Hotel is nice and fair for the price, but it does not feel like a 4 stars. Location is great tho, we walked everywhere. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. It has a good sauna and also a gym that you can book, but the sauna was not cleaned between uses. Also on the downside, bedroom cleaning was not too good and our room didn’t have a wardrobe or anything similar so it was always messy with clothes. The beds are on the soft side and have a top thin mattress that moves at night. Also a bit cold at night, and there were not extra blankets in the room. The breakfast offers a wide variety, but there was not decaffeinated coffee, or hot not-cow milk. They have a parking next door at a good fare. Overall it was good, just some things to improve.

It's very interesting to see what is the level of 4-star hotels in Stockholm - I was quite shocked to see it. One could believe that many reviews give security about the place, but it's not true here. Also it was not just one bad room, we booked many rooms and all were really below the expectations. They did not have even a fraction what is required by the classification for 4 stars, google whichever source you want. Just to say few flaws: really narrow beds and very soft and bad mattresses, small rooms, no place to put suitcase at all, just few hangers on the wall, no closet, no fridge in the room, not to ask even for minibar, very small bathroom, I'm not a big guy, but even for me taking a shower was a challenge, one of our friends rooms had a view from window... to closed breakfast area, what's up with is that? It was not written like this on booking site. And the prices were extremely high, basically the same as Radisson Blue Waterfront - we considered to move really.... but there weren't enough rooms available. Service desk was also very surprising - when I politely asked, is this normal standard for 4-stars in Sweden, they asked where am I from and after hearing it they told literally that they have been in my hometown in much crappier 4-star hotel. Amazing response - how should this make me feel better? And claim itself is extremely hard to believe to be honest... So conclusion - avid it!

Attractive room with tons of empty space and huge windows (and a nice tall wardrobe). Tiny cramped washroom with a clogged shower drain. Super clean otherwise! Especially wooden floors instead of gross carpet. Building was too warm but the windows already let in the smell of wood smoke so I didn't sleep well the first two days. Good light-blocking curtains though. Courtyard outside was quiet, and the walls more soundproof than most hotels. Breakfast is great -- nice variety, and everything's tasty. Staff are friendly, too. No kettle in the room so I got hot water & tea from the lounge every night. Quiet street and a reasonable walk to the train station.

Some what mixed feelings about this hotel. Staying in a charming historic building, is "cool", but it also impacts and lits the comfort of the rooms. A third of our room had a low ceiling and the bathroom was definitely too tight. That didnt feel comfortable. On the other hand: the beds were great! Breakfast was ok. Having the possibility to sit outside is definitely great.

The worst service I have experience at a hotel! They are so rude and don't care about the gust at all. I was in shock how badly they treat guest's at this Hotel.

We had a nice stay at this hotel for our trip to Stockholm last week. It is in a great location for visiting the rest of the city (a stone’s throw from the metro which serves the city very well), and is in a great location for bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was nice. The room was clean, although was a twin room instead of the double that I’d paid for..it wasn’t too much of a problem, but would’ve been nicer if the request had been properly fulfilled. The breakfast buffet was good, although repetitive - I understand it’s difficult to change options all the time, but the breakfasts were the same every day. The last day was actually not very good, and my girlfriend became ill from it. The service at reception was really lovely, and was attentive. There was however one problem…when we first arrived, we were chilling in our room and a cleaner just came into the room unannounced without knocking .. this felt like an invasion of our privacy, but again, benefit of the doubt. I feel like this is a negative review, but it’s not - our stay on the whole was positive. There were just a few issues that moved it from a 5 star to a 3 star review. The sauna was fantastic, and the free tea and coffee was great too. Thank you

Nice, clean, comfortable, and secured room. The staff were great, friendly, helpful, and responsive. The breakfast was great, and we loved the all-day free flow coffee. The location was strategic, near to bus and metro stations, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants. Definitely value for money and highly recommended.

Had a wonderful time during our stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful; like almost being with good friends. Breakfast is excellent. The room are always clean when coming back after a long day of exploring Stockholm. This I can say is part of my good memories here in Sweden.

The hotel has a good location the metro is 5 mins by walk, really awesome. The recepcionists are friendly, the breakfast is varied, the bar is also really great in the Hotel. Only some disadvantages: the bed is a bit soft and if you have the room with a view to the street it is a bit noisy in the morning. But overall I recommend this accomodation.

Another interesting hotel in the Hellsten group, very well located, three stops and a three minutes walk from the central station. Unusual furniture in the rooms and public spaces. Thursday night is jazz night and very good it is too. The bar menu is simple but caters for vegetarians. Breakfast is the usual Swedish buffet with everything you could need, served in a glazed breakfast room half way up one of the circular staircases. The rooms seem to mostly overlook an inner well and the breakfast room. Quite spacious and away from street noise. The shower room is compact and finished in an attractive grey slate/mudstone "tiles". A welcoming team looked after us well.

A bit noisy street, so sleeping with the window open is not doable (unless you put in earplugs). Maybe rooms on the other side of the building are different? Staff is very friendly, room cleaning is done very very well and the location is really good, in a nice neighborhood. Breakfast is also perfectly fine.

Nice mid-sized hotel, great breakfast buffet and nice staff. Definitely excellent value for money. The room was small and very cozy, just what we wanted.

I was there this week with my girlfriend, top spot! The hotel has a really cool vibe and the building is beautiful, the rooms are clean, vintage but also modern. Thats what I loved most about it, the mix between something old and charming and also adding a modern touch to it. The workers on the front desk were really nice and very helpful. If ever back in Stockholm, i would def go there!

The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming and the breakfast is the best I have ever had at a hotel! The main downside for us was the room. We had booked a double bed, however, the bed was 2 single mattresses, with 2 single duvets and 2 square (rock hard) pillows which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. The bathroom was also very small, and the shower leaked which meant water was often all over the floor. If we were staying more than 3 nights then I think this would have become a bigger issue. The location, staff and breakfast were the main redeeming qualities and helped us to enjoy our stay.

Nice hotel and staff. The room we got was nothing special, but if you're on a vacation you care about a tidy and clean room, and our definitely was. The breakfast, continental and English, is included and it is good and with lot of otions.

Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable beds. 30min walk to most tourist attractions. Only downside was the tiny bathroom sink made you spill water everywhere and the shower floor was slanted with no lip so water pooled all over the bathroom.

Hotel is situated in a good quiet location, the nearest Metro Station is Radmansgatan just around the corner and from there you can get to Gamla Stan, the city centre and the museums in roughly 15 minutes otherwise you're looking around a 30 minute walk to the centre. On arrival the staff were pleasant and helpful, room was ok but could have done with a desk and a slightly larger shower enclosure. Breakfast buffet was varied with hot and cold food and plenty of seating, guests also have free access to a sauna downstairs which I thought was quite neat. On the downside I thought the beer was very expensive in the hotel bar (£10 for a glass of beer, half pint) which apparently is not uncommon for Stockholm. I needed a breakfast bag on the last day as I had an early flight and needed to check out early, all I got was a small brown roll which looked like it had been thrown together and a tub of yoghurt, could have done with a couple of extra bits to keep me going. Anyway apart from that I had a good time there and yes I'd recommend the hotel for a short stay.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at Hotel Hellsten. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It was also very well located for exploring the city. Slightly odd decor but not bad. The breakfast was good value and had a lot of variety. The pillows on the bed were not comfortable and seemed very old and lumpy so we slept badly.

Amazing little gem of a hotel. Decor is amazing, very competitively priced rooms, delicious breakfast and the hotel bar is also one of the cheapest places to get a drink we saw in Stockholm. Would definitely stay again!

Good central location. Our room was tiny, but clean and we only wanted a reasonably priced base.

Great room which was very cosy. Lovely breakfast included which really sets you up nicely for the day. Free tea and coffee at any time in the lobby which is fantastic to warm up after a cold trip exploring the city. Great location and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for six days. We were put in a room with two single beds stuck together, which is not what I had booked, so went downstairs to request a different room with a double bed, which they were very helpful about and let me view 4 other rooms and let me decide which one I’d rather. They were very helpful in regards to any questions I needed answering and the cleaners were very efficient. It was slightly disappointing to find out that the jazz night was not on on the Thursday, as they advertise everywhere about their jazz night and how it’s one of the best in Stockholm, so this was massively disappointing. Also, the doors to the rooms are unbelievably heavy, meaning every time someone near you came out of their room, it would literally shake the room so not much chance of any sort of a lie in.

Lovely place, nice breakfast, comfy bed, clean bathrooms, helpful staff. The decorations are awesome. There's a dark corridor leading to reception with two wooden elephants. pretty cool! there are two awesome cafes downstairs with good coffee and snacks. They're both great for hours of work on your laptop. There's also an excellent Indian restaurant downstairs. Easy access to Stockholms University and dozens of bars across the street.

Good place, good personal, great location. Sometimes it seems that room needs renovation. Great choice of food for breakfast, well-tasted coffee ;). Location is perfect, 20-30 min walk from Central Station.

The stay was very cosy with an awesome breakfast. Just that the price was slightly on the higher side. The facilities were great and the staff were very friendly. Being close to the railway station, it was a nice place to commute from as well.

Very quirky well located hotel. I stayed here for 1 night then for 2 nights with a trip out of Stockholm in between. Both times my room was upgraded. Both rooms were very clean and very comfy. The big pillows were awesome. The ensuites are very nice. Breakfast was great - lots of choice. Very quirky details in the room and the bar. Coffee available at all times in the lounge. Near to the metro, but they will keep your bag if you have some time before your connection. I would stay here again if Im in Stockholm again.
