A true gem! It was so relaxing to spend the night on the water and enjoy the sunset on deck. Room was clean, well kept, bed comfortable and the staff very accommodating! Breakfast is delicious and vegans get their money's worth too! The private sauna can be booked at short notice and free of charge and was another highlight for me. I will certainly come again!

Nice, helpful service, good breakfast, an interesting atmosphere and a good location. The low room price comes in exchange for old furniture and loud vacuum toilets. The evening restaurant offers a small menu of good Swedish food. The dining room could be warmer, though.

The breakfast was delightful and the staff was helpful and friendly. The location is the best in my opinion - just a 2 minutes walk to the heart of the old town. The yacht is a hundred years old and is very well preserved with a romantic old-fashioned interior.

We absolutely loved this very unique hotel experience. In fairness, we stayed in Suite 300 which was at the very top of the ship in the largest room. It was fantastic. Although the weather outside was cold, the room stayed quite warm and comfortable. The staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast had a large variety, and was very good.

It's a very nice experience to sleep in a boat cabin for one or two nights with relaxing water sounds but for longer period it could be tedious. The breakfast was normal or even below, and nothing special to say. I arrived around midnight for check-in and although I had checked with the hotel previously the hotel door was closed. Ringed and knocked the door, called the reception but no one answered. So I had to wait for a quarter and afraid what would happen if I couldn't go in! Finally, the receptionist opened the door, I think he was asleep and couldn't hear me. Luckily it was in nice May weather. Imagine if it was a cold winter day with the kids! The other issue was hot water for showering, it went bananas and got hot and cold suddenly. I understand prepare facilities within a boat can be difficult but it is still a hotel. Conclusion: if you look at it as a boat, it is fine but as a hotel it's not a proper choice. So I gave 3 stars as it is.

Very nice, helpful staff, great localization. Rooms are quite small but clean. There were enough amenities, for example: haidryer, ironing room, etc. Breakfasts (from 8-10, on weekends to 10.30) were tasty, fresh and diversified. Unfortunately our room was without air conditioner and there was no window to open.

This place was very lovely. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. I especially want to say thank you to them, because I was suffering a terrible toothache both nights and they energetically accommodated me with medicine and tea around 2 am. It was a very charming, clean and unpretentious environment located centrally in a beautiful neighborhood. I will just advise though that the bed in our room had a somewhat dangerous wooden bar over it, which I think should be padded to avoid injuries.

An amazing place to stay in Stockholm. Excellent attention from the staff, a clean and quiet place. Complete and delicious breakfast. We love the fact that it was close to everything, train station, restaurants, bar and 20min by walk to the city center of Stockholm. We definitely will come back . Thank you

Great stay near center of old town area, palace, boats and lots of shops and restaurants. Be careful when selecting room and be sure to be accurate. Lots of rooms with bunk style beds, if you like that idea. Rooms were clean, nice shower/bath area. Extremely clean! Breakfast was phenomenal!!

Perfect stay, great location friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Rooms are cabins, basic but spacious and nice. Wardrobe, desk, bed, own bathroom. Note that you can hear the road on the other side of the water, bring earplugs. Beautiful stay, 10/10 would recommend.

The ship is located in a good place, close to the city center. The personnel is awesome. There is plenty of choice in breakfast and everything is good quality. In my room, the bunk bed was screeching, the ladder crooked, and the mattress was too soft.

I have never enjoyed a hotel say as much. The rooms, the sauna the beds and the breakfast were all amazing. Friendly staff made the stay even better. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Stockholm.

I've stayed here a few times and the breakfast is really nice and some of the rooms are very nice. Some rooms are smaller than those shown in the photos. My last stay was disappointing as I left a phone charger in the room and when I rang later in the day to try to relocate it the staff were unable to locate it which was hugely inconvenient and ruined much of my day unable to use my phone.

Love being next to old town on the water. The cabin was quaint, clean with all desired amenities. The breakfast was copious with many different options. Loved it

Location and value! We stayed four nights for our first visit to Stockholm, booked this location because it seems so close to everything we want to see and explorer. It is 13 minutes walk from central station, city hall, or slussen ferry, a few minutes to riddarholmen church, gamla Stan, 20 minutes or so to sodermalm, you can walk to the most attractions, vasa museet, royal palace, Skansen, the longest walk was about 40 minutes to historiska museet. The room is small but very clean, neat and comfortable with everything we need. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We have to catchup an early train, so they opened the breakfast early just for us! So nice and considering! The breakfast has so much options, the quality is also much better, you get the real sourdough, real jam, rye bread, a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, cheese is very good. We were so impressed and we will recommend it for someone appreciate its value and good quality of food.

Positives : Truly iconic with a rich history. Close to Gamla Stan station. Naturally close to the Nobel Museum. Amazing and accomodating staff. Good breakfast. The chef, she made seperate scrambled eggs as I had some allergies. Just request her. View is mesmerising from the deck. Negatives : Very small room. Very claustrophobic. I paid extra for the next bigger room, which was also small. Suppose that's how it's in old Yatchs. Carpets need a defenite change. Very dusty even after vacuuming. The edges clearly were filled with dust. Floor is creeky. Makes a lot of noise while waking. Sound proofing is badly needed. Clearly can hear next room noise. Overall a great place with great people to stay with, Just needs a through upgrade. It will truly be an exciting place to stay.

Staying at Mälardrottningen Hotell & Restaurang offers a unique experience with an interesting history. The hotel itself is housed in a former yacht that was once the world's largest. My stay was in an actual yacht cabin with two twin beds, and while the ambiance was pleasant, the small bathroom and closet space posed challenges. It was almost impossible for two people, and even as a solo traveler, fitting my carry-on bag was difficult. The lighting situation in the cabin could use some adjustments; the available lamps were either too bright or not sufficient for various tasks. Despite these downsides, the staff was highly accommodating, even providing a lunch pack and coffee for my early flight. The location is ideal, right by Gamla Stan, though it might feel a bit touristy for some. The subway is a convenient 5-minute walk away, and the area is quiet in the evenings. On-premises, there is a bar and restaurant, enhancing the overall convenience. I appreciated my stay at Mälardrottningen, enjoying both its unique character and the thoughtful service. While there were certain drawbacks with the room's functionality, the overall experience was positive, and I would consider staying here again for its unique charm and excellent location.

Very good hotel in an excellent location, with great views, in Gamla Stan, minutes from major attractions, and close to the metro and transport links. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great food, relaxation on deck or below.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Everything from breakfast to location is amazing. Staff is there 24-7, always helpful and go extra mile. You need a favor? Just ask! They’ll do their best. The price for this experience was just perfect. The location - couldn’t be better!!! And did I mention, it’s a freaking ship that you get to sleep on and eat at?! Just stunning!

We had the cabin with bunk beds and it was very comfy. Buffet breakfast is very good as it also had plant based yogurt, milk and butter. Overall good price, clean, and friendly hotel.

A historical ship with more than 100 years of glorious history. There are 64 rooms in this hotel. Its restaurant is very dreamy. Having dinner there is memorable. I recommend it

The rooms are small (as is to be expected on a ship), but perfectly clean and cozy. Must book a room with a sea view - what a treat!! Breakfast (with sea view!) leaves nothing to be desired, staff is without exception friendly and helpful. We love the Mälardrottningen!!

The rooms are very quaint. Charming, clean and comfortable. The rooms are small but that is to be expected being on a boat; it was never an issue for me though, I found them to be perfectly sufficient for my stay. Excellent value for money, honestly couldn't fault it. The hotel reception was open 24 hours a day and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of different options to suit everybody and was absolutely delicious. Centrally located in beautiful Old Town, so easy access to everything. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Nice hotel and fair priced. Cool thing is that it is an old boat and that is the atmosphere which you feel. A nice historic place and the breakfast room is amazing. There is a little sauna in the boat which can be used and the underground and Gamlastan are in walking distance. This makes the hotel a good base for exploring Stockholm and again it is a good price for what you receive.

Very good accomodation. If you can deal with a narrow shower, you will love it. Had a two bed room for three days. People are very friendly. The location is marvellous and awsome. Mostly matches the midflrvof All you will visit in Stockholm. In summer it must be the kick. Short walking distance to/from Gamla Stan Station, which is therefore close to Slussen and T-Centralen (inbetween). Many of the pendelbåts Start around. Loved it. Always again, thank you very much for the stay.

I spent 3 nights at the hotel and it really has everything you could ask for. Amazing location within the city and cozy clean beds where to have a good night sleep. Also, the breakfast buffet (which is delicious) and the possibility of booking the sauna (free of charge) is a wonderful asset. The service was always kind and attended our requirements or questions perfectly. To finish, the quality/cost relation of the place is one of the best I have ever experienced. I have nothing but good thoughts for this hotel. I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m back at Stockholm.

Got a fabo deal online. Stayed here for 3 night s, last night had to move room as there was water dripping through the roof. Great location - short walk from train station then short schlep to Gamla Stan. Had a porthole that looked over the harbour, which opened so I could hear the harbour sounds. Fantastic breakfast!

The Hotelboat has a very good and central location. As a guest you can also park your car for 200SEK a day which is a really good price for the area. The cabins are quite small but that is fine for a boat. However you can’t open the small windows in the room so it was quite warm with no fresh air. The view from the breakfast room is nice and the food is normal. It was a bit sad that the restaurant and bar was closed during our stay so we couldn’t sit at top and enjoy the view.

I booked this hotel based upon the great reviews. It couldn’t have been more misleading. I slept 3-4 hrs total, due to cleaning staff’s constant racket outside, slamming doors and shouting to one another. Misleading photos/descriptions of the rooms. My friend booked and paid extra for, what she thought was a larger bed. But so wasn’t the case. After a couple of minuts in the shower, the water suddenly got very hot, scalded me badly. Without knocking, room service suddenly stormed into the room. Very unprofessional, that’s unheard of. I’m quite the tolerant man, never making a big fuzz about things that go wrong. But when they were arrogant enough not even to email me back after my critizism, I decided that my review will instead take place here. Friendly staff, decent breakfast and beautiful yacht thou. Clean But never again. Don’t book this place pls

Very special Hotel, very original, as well means forget what you know about hotel rooms. For short time frame the rooms are okish and interesting to experience. The personal service is outstanding. We had a medical challenge to overcome, of course in the middle of the night and the college was very supportive, again many thanks. Breakfast was very fine and having a drink in the evening it is a very nice place to be. Location is without any question very very good.

Loved our stay aboard the Mälardrottningen Hotell. The views on the decks overlooking Långholmen and Södermalm are amazing and created the most relaxing visit in Stockholm. Could not get a better location! Buffet breakfast was the perfect start to the day. Will definitely stay again.

Its a boat, nice idea of having a hotel on a boat, bring earplugs for the morning if u want to sleep a little longer, its a bit noisey. All by all we had a good stay

Fantastic location, gorgeous views, great breakfast, friendly staff The only downside was the size of the bathroom but to be expected on a boat

+ Good location of the hotel - Very small rooms - Service was desirable - Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired - Restaurant and bar was always closed - Nevertheless we paid the full price.

  • 5/5 Anthony H. 1 year ago on Google
Close to the tourist areas and not too far from the cbd. The room I had was adequate for me. Bed is very soft, that and the slight rocking of the yacht had me asleep before I knew it and waking up well rested. Buffet breakfast was awesome. Only criticism here was the bacon was over cooked. Wide variety of food to choose from so I bulked up before I went out for the day so I didn't have to buy lunch. The bar was OK. I enjoyed talking to the people their, but if you want cocktails and a more lively atmosphere this isn't for you.

Wonderful and very helpful staff, lovely cabin in a very fun yacht setting, convenient location very near metro and bus stops, delicious and very reasonably priced restaurant, and incredible free breakfast buffet. Overall one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

I just checked in today, and I can't wait give them a 5-star review! The staff here are fabulous, Matilda, Leo... helped me especially with great patience, kindness and professional service. Leo messaged me with great details on how to get to the hotel from the airport. Matilda gave me fantastic restaurant recommendations and other information that helped me to get as much of Stockholm as possible during my short stay! Everyone here has been super friendly, helpful, nice. The location is great, I have a single room, there's a bit of water leaking under the sink, water flows to the shower drain. The lady at the counter offered me a double room, but I decided to stay in my single room since I'm staying only for one night. I will return to Sweden and Stockholm to spend more time in the future :) Thank you for your great hospitality, kindness and all-around best service! Thank you all so much! Have a wonderful holiday season and Merry Christmas! :)

The boat is a real beauty- but it is a boat, so prepare yourself to small and narrow places, and it -of course- moves! 🙂 We wanted to experience the adventure of it and also the location is fabulous, but perhaps next time we go for a traditional hotel. 😀 Breakfast is "ok", but almost everything could have a little more taste to them. 🙃

It was great experience staying at the hotel. - Great Location: you have 360 degrees view of Stockholm’s top attractions - City Hall, Riddarholmen Church, the old town reflecting in the Malaren Lake 🥰 - Great historical story: it used to be the world’s largest yacht running by Diesels 🤩 How great to have same experience as the millionaires in the nearly 100 years ago (it was built in 1924) - The staffs are super lovely and welcoming. - The breakfast is great. I love the restaurant area so much.

Great location. Very good breakfast. Rooms are small but it is a ship so no surprise. Bit expensive even out of season.

Nestled in an idyllic location, this accommodation boasts an awe-inspiring view from the deck that's perfect for social media enthusiasts. The delightful breakfast and picturesque restaurant setting only add to the charm. However, the experience is slightly marred by loud ventilation in the room and a cramped toilet. Overall, a memorable stay with minor drawbacks.

Excellent hotel, perhaps more suited to smaller groups. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast is very good value and quality. Staff were excellent and location is surperb! Brit tourist recommended!
