Hotel is fine. but I wouldn't regard it as a 4 star hotel. The good: Location- Well placed, we walked everywhere within the city from bars/restaurants to parks to museums People- The front desk was super friendly The Bad: Breakfast- They had no hot food items and selection was extremely limited. They put out soft boiled eggs that were barely cooked one morning. The restaurant is popping during lunch so the staff tries to get ahead of it by setting up lunch settings while breakfast is going on to get ahead of the rush. This made everything feel rushed and was a little inconvenient. Rooms: Halls smelled like the perfume they use in a casino to mask the cigarette smell. Not sure if this place smelled like smoke, but this smell was also not very pleasant NO AIR CONDITIONING You probably don't *need* AC, but in June it would be nice. You can prop your window open, but there was construction outside, apartments across the way, seagulls fighting at 5am and not to mention if you want proper airflow you have to open the blackout blinds and the sun rises at 3:30am in Stockholm during Mid June... The place wasn't terrible, but left a lot to be desired for a "4-star" hotel. Glad I paid with points as it was reasonably priced, but had I paid the true nightly rate I wouldn't be so diplomatic.

Hotel is in a great location right by a train station so you won't have to walk too far. The room was super clean with a large bathroom space and a big sink which is a plus for me! Taking off a star though for laundry which was insanely expensive and you have to pay for every single garmet you wash separately, I'm talking $4 to wash a single pair of underwear. At that rate a full load costs more than a night in the hotel.

Authentic boutique like hotel in the middle of Stockholm. 5 star location. Very attentive and friendly staff who solved every additional wishes we had directly on the spot. Even take away breakfast in the morning since we had to leave too early by taxi. Would stay again!

Excellent hotel for the price and perfect location. Highlight of my stay was the night porter Ibrahim who went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. He definitely deserves some recognition! 10/10.

Hotel für geringe Ansprüche, Zimmer Recht klein ohne Kleiderschränke. Kein deutsches Fernsehen, Minibar nicht bestückt. Täglich frische Handtücher, Frühstück gut und ausreichend, ohne Brötchen. Günstige Lage für Ausflüge. Nettes Personal, Zimmer sauber. Gerne wieder.

This is a horrible hotel and very expensive for little we get. You can hear everything through walls and upstairs rooms. Very dirty and very old and shabby furniture , carpets and beds. The reception was slow and bad and outside the hotel very loud and inside the room the ventilation was very loud. Will never book this hotel again!

I just want to thank you the hotel’s team for the impeccable experience I had staying there over this weekend. It really exceed my expectations. If you love to party and do some shopping the location is perfect. Definitely staying there again

Story Hotel Riddargatan in Stockholm is a nice boutique hotel in the centre of town. The hotel is located net to the Metro station, Ă–stermalms torg, and just one stop from the central station on the red Metro line and thus taking about 30 minutes on public transport from Arlanda airport, ARN. The hotel is close to just about everything in the centre of town, from sightseeing to shopping and restaurants and bars. Whilst it doesn't have an onsite gym, they contracted a local gym only 2 minutes walk away. On the ground floor is a nice bar and an Asian fusion restaurant, which also doubles as the breakfast area. The rooms are nice and big and work well for both leisure and business purposes. The rooms are well planned with period features. An excellent atmosphere at the hotel and a good choice for exploring Stockholm.

Pros: Good location, staff was fine. Cons: Small rooms, no noise isolation whatsoever. We were on the first floor, and you could clearly hear the people upstairs walking, and it would shake some things in the room. Moreover, there was very loud music playing in the bar below. Essentially, no soundproofing of the walls. Also, the mini-fridge inside the room made a lot of noise sometimes during the night. The door doesn’t lock easily and you have to give it a good push to close it. The shower knob was very hard to turn: you have to use a good amount of force. The toilet would leak water and would constantly be in a “flushing state”.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, and plan to stay again on our next trip to Stockholm. From start to finish, we had a great experience that exceeded any and all expectations. Upon arrival, Johan welcomed us in and offered insights into things to do, places to see, and delicious restaurants to try. We had arrived a bit early, I booked this hotel using Hyatt reward nights and requested an early check in - the room was ready right away. 10/10 The room we had stayed in was the King room, the perfect size, spacious, with stunning decor and thoughtful design. We travel often, and as an interior designer I always look for unique design-centric hotels within our budget. This hotel ticked every box. What stood out most was how it matched the ambiance of the neighborhood, bringing the excitement back to the hotel with you. The bed was comfortable, the linens were clean, no issues with the TV or bathroom or other amenities. 10/10 The neighborhood was lovely, one of our favorites. Close to all attractions and within walking distance (+/- 25 minutes). Public transport is excellent in Stockholm, so I would recommend taking advantage of the day passes offered through the SL app and Citymapper to help identify to/from routes using public transport. 10/10 We ordered room service from the restaurant downstairs after a long day and little energy, and a very sweet and kind young woman delivered it with care and a smile. I wish I could remember her name. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. 10/10 Check out was seamless. 10/10 The staff is thoughtful and kind, warm and welcoming, with top tier customer service. 10/10 Some concerns in previous reviews were of the size of the rooms and the noise levels. We did not have an issue with the room size - each room size should be listed in the description too so it’s worth checking that prior to booking. But no issues there, our room was spacious. As far as the noise levels - yes, in a bustling city full of life, at a hotel with a hip bar and classy restaurant, it will be louder than usual. We stayed on the 3rd floor, noise levels didn’t exceed what would be expected, neither were they distracting. Thank you Story Hotel staff for a memorable stay, we look forward to our return!

Cute little boutique hotel. The rooms are a little small but well finished. Staff were all very friendly. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but it smelt good!

I almost gave 2 stars because the rooms were so small and the fan/generator outside our window was so loud throughout the night... However, the hotel has several redeeming qualities. See below: Pros: -Complimentary access to a REAL gym next door. It has everything from free weights, calisthenics, to squat racks. Very nice for avid travelers who want to stay fit. -Very friendly and helpful staff. -Affordable pricing for Stockholm "hotel" Cons: -Very tiny rooms. I've spent a lot of time in Tokyo and NYC and it doesn't even compare. It is like a closet. -It gets unbearably hot during the summer on the higher floors (we were on the 5th floor), and the fan or generator unit just outside our window was so loud that we couldn't sleep with the windows open, forcing us to choose between noise and heat.

Definitely one of the highlights in my trip to Scandinavia. Beautiful and cozy room. Not very modern but it gives you the atmosphere of Europe. The sofa bed is also very comfortable. All staff are professional and friendly. The breakfast is also delicious!

Clean but dim room. The bathroom shower leaks too much water due to the absence of a door or curtain. Very narrow hotel entrance and corridors. We were mentally prepared for the noise coming from the bar, but it was tolerable even though we were on the first floor.

The bed was certainly comfortable and the bathroom was fine. We were at the back of the hotel and it was noisy owing to a conditioning unit. We kept our windows closed and as a result the room was hot. The room itself was very cramped and there was inadequate hanging and storage space. The decor is quirky to say the least. Staff were helpful, however.

Cosy hotel in a great location. Easy access to the metro. Beds comfortable, showers had great pressure and warm water. The rooms did run really warm at night so we had to open a window, but once we did that it was all good. There was plenty of room in our room to put suitcases and those types of things. Hotel staff were friendly, and gave great recommendations. Super helpful! Breakfast was the typical European breakfast with an expansive spread! Would recommend for sure If you’re looking for a decent price, and great location!

Stayed at the Story Hotel for a 2nd time after a great first experience and it didn't disappoint again. The staff here are really friendly and welcoming without exception and the rooms are clean, quiet and incredibly comfortable (the bed and shower in particular were highlights). Downstairs, the bar is lively with DJs and a great selection of beers - I'd visit the bar even if I wasn't staying there, which is a rare thing for a hotel. A good breakfast is also available. The location, tucked up a street just a short walk from the waterfront and shopping streets, is perfect. I've found my go-to hotel in Stockholm for sure!

Really liked this hotel. Perfect location. The room and bathroom were terrific. So well-designed and appealing. Generous size. Nice balcony. The breakfast was good, as the room service dinner from the downstairs restaurant, Ling Long, was even better. Odd to see the check-in desk right in front of the door when entering the small, cramped lobby. I was told they are renovating soon.

This is a cool little hotel in an excellent location. It's quirky and different. Reception is extremely weird, almost an afterthought, and is a small, podium-like desk at the entrance to the hotel that is sandwiched between the restaurant and bar. Nobody was there on check-in or check-out, so we were left wondering if we were in the right place on arrival and being a little pressed for time on departure. They finally showed up in both instances, but it really is weird. Our room was upgraded to a suite and it was pretty nice. The bathroom floors were heated, which was great. There was a master switch for power at the door and maid turndd it off every time they left the room. Didn't help when we were charging phones and laptop. Super fun art all over the room and great natural light. The other issue here is the skinny hallways that were cluttered throughout the day with dirty dishes, trash and maid's cart plus all of their tools. It was unseemly and a nuisance which is a shame as the vibe without all of it in there, is great. Black with low, exposed ceilings and some great art on the walls. Breakfast was a real letdown each morning. Limited choices, with scrambled eggs that were soupy and disgusting. It made us avoid the restaurant for lunch or dinner as we were worried they would have the same poor quality food. I'd stay again and would recommend the hotel, but just have some lowered expectations.

Amazing hotel with great location, walking distance to everything Stockholm has to offer. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. They also have a nice restaurant serving Asian food that was very busy at night (unfortunately we didn’t eat here) but we had a couple nice cocktails at the bar. We would stay here again so would definitely recommend this hotel.

Spent a weekend in Stockholm and was looking for a place to stay in Ă–stermalm, so I booked this little gem. Loved the room design and slept in the most comfortable bed I ever slept in! (That alone would have given 10 stars!). Breakfast was wonderful, and the Bar in the evening had a great staff that created wonderful Cocktails. But this bar or better said the noise it creates in the rooms was the reason, why I only gave a total of 4 stars. Took me a while to fall asleep because of the music I heard. But I would definitely come back to this place!

I’m sorry to say I didn’t enjoy my stay here. When travelling, I have two non-negotiables for hotel rooms - clean, and quiet. Story was very clean, but it was never and in no way quiet. First, music is piped into the corridors day and night, and one of the speakers was right outside our room (214) so we could hear it from inside. Second, there’s two bars downstairs - one belonging to the hotel, the other not. From mid afternoon, incessant loud music thudded away in the background until midnight, or 1am on weekend nights. It was audible over our TV and ear plugs didn’t deal with the bass. It made it impossible to chill out during breaks between sightseeing, disrupted our sleep and meant we were exhausted for our early flight home. It made me dread returning to the hotel after evenings out, which is totally opposite to what I wanted. Third, people outside the bar added to the noise. The windows seem to have no soundproofing as it sounded like the party was in our room. Finally, housekeeping were extremely noisy before 8am in the morning, loud voices and slamming doors (which made our hotel door and bathroom mirror shake), so catching up on sleep after being kept awake till late wasn’t possible either. If you are not a light sleeper, none of this will matter - but if you are, like me, be warned and view this as a deal breaker. I’d never have booked here if I’d known how noisy it is. A few other irritants made me bristle at the price we paid too, and wonder why this is a four star place. The toilet door didn’t close properly, and kept popping open unless you locked it to maintain some dignity. There was nowhere to put underwear/socks - only hangers - so if you don’t like living out of a suitcase, you’re limited. I resorted to storing my smalls in the drinks cabinet (which was empty anyway, leading me to wonder why it was there instead of drawers). The TV only worked if you aimed the remote at the opposite wall or laid flat on the bed. There is no air con, and while the bed was comfortable, the pillows became uncomfortably flat as pancakes during the night. There is a lift, but if you choose to use the spiral staircase down to reception, take care as it’s really dark and only the last few steps have edge markings to help you see them. On the positive side, the room was clean, the toiletries very nice, breakfast was great if you’re not bothered about hot options, and the reception staff friendly. The location is also excellent. If you’re not bothered about noise, you’ll probably enjoy staying here. If you value rest and sleep, I’d advise giving it a swerve.

Pros: lovely staff all around, perfect location, great breakfast, great restaurant and bar! good bathrooms/showers/water pressure. Minor downside: small-ish rooms but who cares. Bottom line: this hotel is awesome!

Come here only if you love to wake up to the sound of a construction site at 6am. It's right opposite the hotel and it's very loud. I wouldn't recommend going until they have finished demolishing the neighbouring house. Otherwise nice rooms, lovely staff and great service and exceptional breakfast. There's a cute terrace in the back.

Great location and breakfast. Bar is also good. Recommend strongly against getting one of the rooms with a balcony, as people only get them so they can smoke. We couldn’t have our balcony door open once during our entire 5-night stay due to neighboring guests smoking on their balconies at all times. Definite waste of money. The music in the hallways at all hours is a bit much too - recommend bringing earplugs, but would be nice if the hotel would cut the hallway music by 10 or 11 pm or so. Overall, would happily stay here again but not in a room with a balcony.

I was greeted by Johan for a 2 nights stay. Johan was very friendly, helpful and professional right from the start. I mentioned the room was hot and he upgraded my room immediately. I enjoyed the breakfast and loved the cool vibe of the hotel. Johan did an amazing job to enhance the experience. Hope to be back again!
