I
recently
stayed
at
Hotel
Skeppsbron
in
Sweden
and
unfortunately,
my
experience
was
far
from
what
was
advertised.
Upon
arriving
at
the
hotel,
I
was
shocked
to
find
that
the
room
I
was
assigned
was
tiny
and
flooded.
The
hotel
staff
did
clean
up
the
water,
but
it
was
evident
that
the
flooding
was
caused
by
the
shower,
which
was
not
functioning
properly.
The
toilet
flush
was
also
incredibly
loud,
disrupting
my
peace
and
quiet
during
my
stay.
Adding
to
my
disappointment,
the
bedsheets
in
the
room
were
dirty,
and
I
discovered
a
rotting
orange
in
the
wardrobe
and
fingernails
on
the
floor,
which
was
unacceptable
in
terms
of
cleanliness
and
hygiene.
I
immediately
brought
these
issues
to
the
attention
of
the
hotel
staff
and
requested
a
refund,
but
my
request
was
completely
denied,
which
was
frustrating
and
disappointing.
As
if
these
issues
were
not
enough,
the
hotel
offered
to
move
me
to
a
room
upstairs
for
only
2
out
of
the
4
nights
of
my
stay.
However,
the
rooms
upstairs
had
a
strong
smell
of
sewage,
making
it
an
unpleasant
experience.
The
manager
also
rang
the
owner
that
offered
an
apartment
close-by
for
2
nights
which
we
were
also
uncomfortable
with.
The
fact
that
the
hotel
is
advertised
as
a
hotel
is
misleading,
as
it
would
be
more
fitting
to
call
it
a
hostel
due
to
the
lack
of
basic
amenities
and
cleanliness.
In
the
end
we
stayed
for
a
single
night
before
leaving
and
staying
at
another
hotel.
Overall,
my
stay
at
Hotel
Skeppsbron
was
disappointing
and
fell
far
short
of
the
advertised
standards.
The
issues
with
the
tiny
flooded
room,
loud
toilet
flush,
dirty
bedsheets,
rotting
fruit,
fingernails
on
the
floor,
and
unpleasant
smell
in
the
alternative
room
were
unacceptable.
Additionally,
the
refusal
to
provide
a
refund
for
the
subpar
experience
was
disappointing
(including
when
our
booking
website
rang).
I
would
caution
other
travellers
to
carefully
consider
their
options
before
booking
a
stay,
as
it
did
not
live
up
to
its
advertised
standards.
