I booked this hotel while in Stockholm, and I have to say i very much liked it. The beds area is comfortable, and the room was very clean and had everything i needed. Staff was very welcoming, willing to help whatever you would require. If there are bad reviews, then it must be by someone who had a bad day and wanted to ruin someone else's day or reputation in these instances. It is a wonderful hotel, and if visistung again i will look no further and book it again, as location is amazing and you wont get another room for this price in Gamla stan.

I not recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked 2 nights in the room without a window. No window was not a problem, but they turned off the ventilation and therefore there was no air in the room all night! We did not stay the second night. The hotel promised a refund. To date we have not received the money! Scammers!!! I suggest to the owner of the hotel or the staff to lock themselves in this room for the whole night without air and see how it feels. I will report this to the relevant office. Such a place should be closed because it does not meet the basic conditions of use.

Hotel Skeppsbron is located at the edge of old town on a side alley. The building is old and the rooms are in the basement, but it's relatively cheap for the location, so the value for money is good. The check-in time is few hours in early afternoon but luckily they can arrange self check-in if you pay in advance. The room was quite dirty, sticky coffee stains everywhere and the rulebook had been soaked in coffee. Free coffee in the kitchen though. It started to be end of the summer so the AC was just enough to be ok, I suspect it'll be hot in the summer time. Overall a good cheap central-ish stay for one night or so.

I was double-charged. I paid for the hotel by credit card when I checked in, then the manager knocked on the door that night and said the transaction had been declined. I went out to the lobby with him, and he ran by backup credit card. He assured me the first transaction had not gone through. When I got my credit card statement, I saw that both transactions had gone through. I emailed the hotel, no response for five days. I called three times, on the third try I got the manager (same guy, as I suspect this is a one-man operation). He told me that he would call me back tomorrow between 11am and 7pm. I told him that I had already sent an email with no reply, and he hung up on me. This is a classic double-charge scam, hoping I don't notice the item on both credit card statements or can't argue the charges in a foreign country.

I recently stayed at Hotel Skeppsbron in Sweden and unfortunately, my experience was far from what was advertised. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was shocked to find that the room I was assigned was tiny and flooded. The hotel staff did clean up the water, but it was evident that the flooding was caused by the shower, which was not functioning properly. The toilet flush was also incredibly loud, disrupting my peace and quiet during my stay. Adding to my disappointment, the bedsheets in the room were dirty, and I discovered a rotting orange in the wardrobe and fingernails on the floor, which was unacceptable in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. I immediately brought these issues to the attention of the hotel staff and requested a refund, but my request was completely denied, which was frustrating and disappointing. As if these issues were not enough, the hotel offered to move me to a room upstairs for only 2 out of the 4 nights of my stay. However, the rooms upstairs had a strong smell of sewage, making it an unpleasant experience. The manager also rang the owner that offered an apartment close-by for 2 nights which we were also uncomfortable with. The fact that the hotel is advertised as a hotel is misleading, as it would be more fitting to call it a hostel due to the lack of basic amenities and cleanliness. In the end we stayed for a single night before leaving and staying at another hotel. Overall, my stay at Hotel Skeppsbron was disappointing and fell far short of the advertised standards. The issues with the tiny flooded room, loud toilet flush, dirty bedsheets, rotting fruit, fingernails on the floor, and unpleasant smell in the alternative room were unacceptable. Additionally, the refusal to provide a refund for the subpar experience was disappointing (including when our booking website rang). I would caution other travellers to carefully consider their options before booking a stay, as it did not live up to its advertised standards.

We rented four rooms each with own en-suites, the rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable (including the pillows) and the bathrooms were all sparkling. The plumbing loud, but definitely no problems with it. The management were super helpful and friendly and the location cannot be beat.

Our family stayed here in early March and couldn't have had a more magical experience! We loved the location right in the heart of old town and fell in love with our room as well as the cozy common spaces! To top it off, Johnny was so helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to help us have a wonderful stay in town - we spent quite a bit of time chatting with him over our stay and that was one of our favorite memories of the trip! While we wouldn't necessarily have a reason to visit Stockholm again in the future, we would seriously consider staying here again to relax and enjoy the stay at Hotell Skeppsbron!

Very good location, 20 minutes walking distance from Stockholms Centralstation with a backpack. There are so many places to visit nearby. Johnny is a friendly person and polyglot. It felt good to hear Turkish words and talk about Turkey and Cyprus. When I entered the hotel I was worried about the renovation. However, they were completed in a very short time. The rooms are downstairs, in the basement, and without windows. It has a historical feel, medieval.

Fantastic hospitality! The room was very cosy and clean. In the hall you can find cookies, fresh water and tea/coffee. Check in was pretty easy. We received code to external door and room door. The price was very good. Also location was incredible! In the room you can find towels and hair dryer Greetings from Poland!

Absolutely loved my 3 night stay here. I stayed 16-18 March 2019. So the weather was very cold and wet. This was a lovely respite at the end of each day. I stayed in room 10 and it was very comfortable. It was very quiet which was great to get a good night's sleep. One of the best hotel beds I've slept in. The pillows were excellent (something not many hotels get right). I had a private toilet/WC and access to a shared shower. The shower was pretty small, particularly as some who is quite tall. I banged my elbows a few times until I got used to it. The staff were very friendly and were able to print some train tickets for me. The location is very central if you want to spend time in the historic part of the city. It was a 15 min walk to the central train station. And a 15-20 min walk to places like the national museum etc. It was only 5 mins to the Royal Palace. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Cheap. No windows. Safe. Friendly staff. Free cookies. Not a bad place to stay if one is not claustrophobic.

You know what. It wasn't too bad at all. It was quite cheap for the excellent location, however we saw no one on staff while there. That can sometimes be a good thing to be fair. The free tea and coffee was a nice idea but no milk did spoil my morning wake up routine. Toilet and shower very small but who cares. Its not like you spend a great deal of time in there. Also the 5v didn't work at all. Maybe 4 was too generous?.

Front desk clerk was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is small and quiet. However, the business room has a constant sound of air running through the pipes. If you like white noise when you sleep it's great. The shower is small. If you are fat, get another room. The bed is very comfy and the hotel is smack dab in the middle of everything.

We booked a room with 2 separate beds and when we arrived we got a double bed room and were told that there were no more rooms available with 2 separate beds even tho that is what we booked and paid extra for:( we were not told this in advance either so we were not able to book a different hotel because of prices and short notice. Very upsetting. The room was small and cramp absolutely not good if you are claustrophobic which I am not but really felt while in the room. It also wasn’t CLEANED properly. There were stains and dust everywhere. Disgusting. The toilets also make a very loud noise and I could here other guests toilets flush and that woke me up many times. Definitely not a 4/5 star hotel. Seriously put your money into something better that will AT LEAST give you a good nights sleep in clean room. You literally deserve better than this hotel.

This hotel was perfect for my two night stay in Gamla Stan! I arrived an hour or so before check in but the room was already prepared and we were given our room early. My mother and I were traveling together and stayed in a two bed room that did not have an attached bathroom. I knew this when making the booking and the shared bathroom scenario has not been problematic at all. The location is absolutely perfect with tons and tons of stuff to do and see within walking distance. The woman working the desk (Michaela I believe) has been very kind throughout our stay.

Basic but very well located, being a short walk from the metro, ferry dock and still walkable from Central Station.

Cannot get any more central than this, rustic house, clean and plain room, missing some basics like a bedside table, no breakfast but plenty of places around the hotel.

A very well designed and unique hotel. It seems to be the best you can get within this price range. Stayed here for 4 nights and would readily come back again. Pros: The location is beautiful and safe to walk around at night. The rooms are quiet and feels very private. It is also clean and we had a good sleep. Has a tv with english channels. Free tea and biscuits. Cons: The rooms are small (like Hong Kong) and have no windows but somehow it all works well. May feel a little claustrophobic. It is difficult to open large suitcases.

Filthy hotel, with stains in the sheets, hair on showerhead, nasty stuff on sink and toilet, used products from previous guests, TV on your head above the tiny bed, no teakettle, no desk (when I asked for one as I was staying for a week he brought a nasty one from the kitchen - and it was Johnny himself who unpleasantly changed the sheets upon my request). Johnny is the person in charge and can be very demeaning in his attitude, as if trying to prove you wrong in spite of the evidence. Oh yeah, no view either, except a brick wall, and the cold comes in throught the window frame. My request to be moved to another room was denied because they were "too busy and too full", although this felt more like a ghostel than anything, and the room was freezing at night, with Johnny himself jokingly explaining that the toilet makes the sounds of an airplane toilet. Since the room isn't soundproof, I was up all night, hearing other people flush, which sounded like an earthquake. I tried to cancel my booking and the hotel does not want to refund my money, saying to booking.com that they offered me other rooms, which isn't true. A big waste of money AND time, so avoid this place if you can. I know I wish I had. I'd give negative stars if I could.

Central position ať Gamla Stan. Historical building is well renovated. Simple and small but clean and efficiently equipped rooms. Slightly noisy during night due to trafic. No breakfast, but there is a restaurant in front of the hotel where breakfast can be purchased with discount.

Very basic rooms, comfort level low and very noisy rooms. Good service but we’ve checked out after 2 nights (and had to pay a fine for early cancellation). Would not recommend this hotel

The staff are incredible! I showed up early and didn't have an early check in and they offered to hold my bags and prioritized my room. They got my room in less than an hour! Super nice and loved talking to them and got great recommendations on what I should do and see. The room was nice and cozy the WI-FI worked great. 10/10, will stay here again.

I usually do not do reviews but seeing as this particular hotel has gotten some rather bad critique prior, made me apprehensive beforehand, and I wish to share that my experience on the contrary was very good. Staff was welcoming and friendly. I was checked in immediately and shown to my room. Room was small but clean and with everything I might need for a night's stay. My stay was not overly expensive and I felt I got good value for my money. Next time I pass through, I will definitely consider staying here again.
