Very calm hostel, in a nice and cozy historical island - but still just a short walk from the metro and the city center. Great to rest after a long day traveling around. The hostel has a small cafe / restaurant with good quick food and beers, and the personnel is very friendly.

Amazing location exactly where you want to be if you are visiting Stockholm. Beautiful spot, green, quiet and near everything. And great value for money, friendly staff, very clean rooms (newly renovated). You can stay on the boat which is fun but I would actually recommend the rooms in the main building, especially if you are not coming during the summer since most facilities are on land. I stay here every time I’m in town and can only give it 5*!

I’ve stayed at this hostel twice! It’s located in the best spot in Stockholm, surrounded by water, parks and lots of beautiful views! Very calm and quiet (except seagulls), makes you think that you’re far away from the city, even though you’re very close to everything. The first time I’ve stayed here I got a shared room with a shared bathroom, it wasn’t very convenient. But the second time I’ve stayed in a private room and it was perfect! Big room, big private bathroom, gorgeous view from the window, everything was perfect. There’s also a guest kitchen which is very convenient. I’m pretty sure next time I go to Stockholm I’ll book a room at STF Af Chapman again:) Staff is also very friendly and helpful! Thank you for a pleasurable experience!

Very clean hostel with good atmosphere. Spent 3 nights on the ship which was clean and comfortable. Very good location for walking to the “tourist spots” in the city as well as nice places to eat.

A pretty cool experience you should try! AF Chapman is an extremely well renovated historical ship with excellent modern quality amenities while still maintaining a lot of the oldschool feel of being on a really, really, really old ship!! The staff is exceptionally willing to help you out. Thanks-a-million for your kindness! The location is nice, great for scenic walks.. The small port windows (at least in our 6bed dorm room) were actually functional! Cool. And the entire ship gently rocked a bit to give you the real seafaring feeling (not so much to make you queezie though.. at the time the weather outside was slightly windy and rainy) Keep in mind if you want to book a bed (in a shared dorm cabin) or room (private cabin) on the ship you need one labelled as 'cabin' because they also have regular rooms and dorms in the adjacent building for land lubbers.

The bathrooms were always so clean. So thanks for that, the rooms are big, the stairs to climb the bed are one of the easiest I've found. The view from the window was magnificent, especially this winter. Sadly the boat was closed during winter. But the view of it is spectacular. But one of the lockers of the room was falling apart. And even if the reception is open 24h/24h, when I arrived I had to ring the bell a few times before someone came (and it wasn't even the receptionist). When I left, there wasn't anybody.

This hostel is extremely nice. Location is privileged. Breakfast is really good and varied (though coffee is poor). Cleaning is extremely good and thorough. Staff is always polite and helpful. BUT: have in mind they only take cards. Nearest supermarket or food shop is at least 1.5kms, this can be a real hassle as the hostel's kitchen closes really early (7pm). I would advise not to pay over 30 euro for beds in shared dorm. Anything above that is overprice. Booking in their website is recommended for best rates. Website is a really old-fashioned and could use a much needed update.

This is a great hostel - excellent location, comfortable beds, very clean rooms & friendly staff. I have been to stockholm many times and would definitely stay here again. A short walk to Gamla Stan & close to city & tourist attractions.

Ausblick vom Zimmer war sehr fein. Zimmer selbst ist Jugendherberge-Style (2 Stockbetten). Frühstück preislich absolut okay (Buffet). Toilette und Dusche am Gang sind akzeptabel für mich.

The place is in a very nice location. You will have to walk a bit to the nearest underground, but you’re pretty much in the center, and can walk to most cool stuff. The staff is kind, helpful. The rooms not to big but warm enough and nice. Simple. Could have more sockets I guess. There are breakfasts (7-10:30, 7:30-10:30 during weekends) for about 12€ that seem rich enough but nothing crazy about that, we skipped those. There’s also a kitchen with a stovetop and two fridges so no problem preparing your meals unless it’s oven-baked which is not possible here. There’s some free stuff to use (like salt or rice) but no oil nor sugar, you need to buy that. A small café is near the reception, even with an outside terrace. Overall happy with the place. The toilets could be a bit in a better shape, ours’ cover was broken. Also people outside can see into the toilet room when they are in the hill (more coverage of the window would be welcome). Also there’s a lot of wind making the doors bang when you aren’t careful. Otherwise we were comfortable enough and happy about the location too.

What a view and location, just perfect! And the personnel is great, their excellent team spirit spreads to the customers. Still a hostel, not a hotel, so no toilets in the rooms etc.

Great clean hostel with friendly people! Not a super social hostel vibe if that is what you’re looking for, but it was quiet and nice!

The location is just perfect for the price. And it's also very quiet and peaceful at night.

Noisy surroundings, day and night. Third day and no rest. Nightmare. I'm trying to move somewhere else to rest. It's 1am and it's still boom boom on my sleepless ears. Last two nights this went up to 2am. I tried to rest in the afternoon, guess what.. waken up by noise in the surroundings. A beautiful island but uncivilized surroundings

Simple but comfortable hostel in Central Stockholm. Old Town and vasa museum in comfortable walking distance at 15-30 minutes. The island itself is really nice and calm. Breakfast is not fancy but nicely arranged and perfectly sufficient with differnt types of bread, cheese, coldcuts, Nutella, jam, eggs, coffee, tea, musli and joghurt. Rooms were clean and spacious, towels and bedsheets provided. A sink in the rooms, toilets/shwower in the hallway. The only thing missing was more power outlets, especially close to the beds. Bring your own padlock for the lockers or rent/buy one at reception. For a budget hostel stay in Stockholm, i will definitely recommend this place!

I recently stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and had a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hostel itself is clean, well-maintained, and has all the amenities you could ask for, including free Wi-Fi and a fully-equipped kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable my room was. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, which made for a great night's sleep. The location of the hostel is also fantastic - it's situated in a quiet neighborhood but is just a short walk away from all the main attractions of the city. I really appreciated the staff's recommendations on what to see and do in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and welcoming place to stay in the city.

Has an authentic feel, friendly staff, slighty aged room but very well maintained. Superb breakfast worth every penny.

Spacious 4person room, suitable for a family with children. Very clean and quiet. Good buffet breakfast but kitchen is also available for self catering. Excellent location and views.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was on the ship. It was amazing. Especially after the city is “shutdown” you can stay on the bow of the ship and chill.

The bedsheets were stained, there were crumbs and wood on the mattresses and no soap near the sinks. Let's also not forget the fact that there are no toilets in the rooms. The heater didn't do anything to make the rooms warmer even though it would be boiling hot at times. But they do have clean bathrooms, a great breakfast buffet and the hotel rooms are aesthetically pleasing (color-wise)

Went here service was good, liked the breakfast view was the best part though however rooms on the ship were booked and the building next to us had a huge party.

Welcoming was so bad ! We reserved for 2 rooms and the big dirty guy at the reception wanted to cover us for for extra people as we were 4 … so 2 per room … of 2 beds. Ununderstandable. We couldn’t find any arrangement about cancelation, we have to pay AND we have to find another hotel at the last minute.

Amazing place, great location. Clean rooms. Good breakfast with vegan options. Good price.

Obviously the location is cool, and the charm of staying on the renowned vessel. I found the bedcover a little inadequate, so I woke several times feeling cold. I'd been looking forward to sleeping but didn't get much. The boat had many showers but they were all locked, all the time! Reasonable price but could have been more comfortable overall.

Beautiful hostel with an amazing location. Solo traveler that stayed in the largest room (24ish beds) -Very spacious rooms -Large kitchen and common room -Fast wifi (when downstairs, in room it was ok but not a big deal) -The location is so COOL. You are on your own island. -Special shout out to Paul at the front desk… incredibly helpful! -Clean showers and rooms, includes sheets and everything! -Self service laundry for surprisingly not that much
