I have been going to SATS Odenplan for the Martial Arts classes for half a year now. I can only say good things about the instructors. The boxing and kickboxing instructors are very methodological and follow a progression from basic drills to situational sparring. They are also very patient with beginners. The classes are of a reasonable size, unlike in some of the "elite" MMA gyms in Stockholm. That being said, I think the facilities are a bit run down with an unfortunate layout. I wished there was a separated stretching area. It feels a bit unsafe when people are weightlifting or warming up while others are waiting for their classes in the same area.

I've been going to SATS Odenplan regularly, almost every week for the last 10 years. The gym used to be in good condition and still has generous opening hours due to its location and high volume of members, however I'm seriously thinking of switching my membership to another gym due to frequent disappointments and extremely incompetent management. Summary of my experience: - Sauna: The sauna gets broken way too frequently, at least once every two months. As of writing this, it's again out of order and repair takes weeks. The frequency and the times this happens is uncanny which has led me to believe that it is done on purpose to save on electricity. Right now, It's the end of August, when people are back from vacation and surprise, no sauna which for me and many others, is the best part of the workout. Last year, same thing happened almost around the same time and also the year before. I don't know how SATS business model works i.e. whether the center local management takes profit on reducing expenses or whether it's rotten to the core? I seriously doubt the latter since smaller centers with much less traffic usually have a functioning hot sauna all year round. Also after Covid when electricity prices went up suddenly, this center was one of the few which was selected to keep the sauna open, however the unit temperature was set to low (to save on electricity? is it really worth it at the expense of ruining customer experience?) so in practice, it never worked. Even if it's not done on purpose, then it implies extremely poor management who can not handle the maintenance properly. The unit brand is Tylö which is the same one used in most of the SATS centers. How come this specific unit goes out of order so frequently? If so, why doesn't SATS invest in a bullet-proof heating unit? - Equipment maintenance: There are 5 elliptical machines in the middle of the gym that are very popular and only one of them functions as intended (the first one to the right when you enter the gym). It's been like this for years. They do some maintenance occasionally but the machines are not working as they should. Same situation with the 3 stationary bikes (relaxed seats) at the back of the gym. All three of them have pedal pressure failure on high resistance (over 20) and a bit faster pace. How much does it cost to replace them with a new one? I am more than willing to pay a bit extra on my subscription as long as SATS Odenplan maintains a certain level of SLA wrt equipment maintenance and the sauna up time. I'm sure many other regular members would agree with me. If in doubt, do a survey. In a less severe situation, all the rowing machines have subpar, sometimes broken foot straps. It's such a simple thing to fix that would make a huge impact on user experience. Now these examples are just the equipment that I use often, no idea about the rest. Minor complaints, not a deal breaker: - Too loud music in the boxing arena: There's an open space boxing arena right beside the training section on the right wing where the instructors usually play too loud music. Now, the best part of my day is my workout when I listen to some audio book or podcast during my training and record notes which requires focus. The loud music is very distracting and sometimes annoying. Music is very subjective and the people who signed up for the boxing class don't need extra motivation to get moving as they're already fit and in good shape. Some of the boxing classes take place at 6-7 am and I highly doubt a person who attends it at that time requires an annoying loud music (chosen by the instructor) to get moving. Please be mindful of the other members nearby in the free weight training area. - Chalk: Is there any rule on using chalk? Many gyms ban it or limit it to specific sections but at this center, I've seen even trainers sometimes use it. OK, but shouldn't the user clean the barber/dumbbell and weights afterward? Shouldn't you put up some notes or warnings for that since it's quite unpleasant to touch a piece of metal where there's chalk all over it.

Great gym with friendly staff. Pretty recently large in size 2oty plenty of locker room space. Usually don't need to wait at all or very long for any equipment. Everything is kept clean and patrons help with that after using any equipment. Centrally located in Stockholm and convenient to visit during a break or after work.

Very large gym with all necessary equipment. They do offer mini SATS where you can leave the kid. Unfortunately there is so little people working there that you almost never can leave your kid there. 2 people working- 6 kids in. Very disappointed with the service I’m paying for.

Normally my experience at SATS is good but highly dissappointed today. I had been looking forward to their Dance Step Class held at 9.30 am. Im a single mother with a full time toddler only now getting out. It takes me time to follow moves, most people in the class were regulars. Mid lesson, The instructor Annika Gelhaar came up to me and said i should either do the dance moves or leave the class because im getting in the way. Asked me to take the stepper at the back if i want to stay. I understand that she would ask me to go at the back to not get in the way but how she said this was not okay. It was such a rude thing to say. Disgusted. I felt so bad i had to leave. Never been to a class that demotivating.

Big gym, with loads of machines. Pros: A lot of classes available. Extra plus for the MMA area & massive creche (Mini-SATS), that is open more hours than any other Mini-SATS. The place feels well tajen care of. Cons: No windows as the whole place is under ground .

Terrible customer service. I forgot my charger once! And they refused to borrow me. Orher guys in the gym told me they borrow if you ask. And I begged two personnel people. They know me. I go there almost every day. Still they would not trust me to have a charger for 5-10 mins. So weird attitude. I do not recommend this gym. It's also quite dirty in the toilets. They don't clean up probably. Today toilet seat was on the floor. I had to install it to use it. There are cans with drink that other customers don't care to clean up. Weights are not sorted. Personnel simply does not do their jobs. Equipment such as rubber bands is impossible to find. A Squat belts PTs keep for themselves. Who they think they are? Educate better them to take of the gym and provide good service next time! Give two stars instead of one for good selection of the machines and big weight lifting area.

The gym is massive, has all the equipment you could possibly need and the gym staff are as great as they can be. The gym itself however is filled with the most self-centered, self-absorbed fitness/beauty bloggers that have zero respect for others in their surroundings. They don't put the weights back, they don't cover their mouths when they sneeze, they don't wash the seats when they are done, they slam the weights on the floor and generally the atmosphere is terrible - specially during late hours. The fault is not SATS itself nor the people working there. Again the staff is great - it's the gymgoers who are absolutely insufferable and inconsiderate to every degree. Also, for some reason the music is VERY LOUD to the point of causing permanent ear damage. There are plenty of other SATS gyms in the area and I'd avoid this one like the plague unless you have no other choice. The gym is a haven for despicable behavior all caused by vanity.

Love the newly renovated setup. The minisats is fantastic. Cross-fit area, everything you could possibly need.

An awesome, well equipped gym. Unfortunately, it is also VERY popular, so there is no hope for a squat rack at peak hours, and even off peak you often have to wait.

The air in the gym is not good and it's too warm. Especially the cycling room, it’s hot and humid and bikes get soaked with sweat. Have asked for a fan in there for years but nothing happens. Maybe it’s a saving issue, but the amount of paper and spraying on the bikes can not be a better solution. The only good thing is Mini Sats!

Favorite SATS I’ve been to. It’s really big and is open later than the others. I wish there was a open space for stretching and warming up.

Well maintained gym with really friendly and helpful staff members and instructors. Its underground location and somewhat confusing layout are the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars.

Great gym, very well equipped. The only bad thing about it is that after 16h is really packed and it becomes difficult to do a workout fluently.

Massively crowded. Customer service is excellent but the gym is just packed. Crowd mixed but lots of instagrammers and vitamin enthusiasts. Situated in a basement which doesn't help the atmosphere.

The staff can be quite rude. The gym itself however is the nicest gym I've been to so far. Good free weight area but mainly it has an excellent selection of machine equipment. Feels modern. .

Terrible! uncivilized agressive väktare who talks to you like he owns the place and accuses you of steroid rage! when he's the one assaulting and screaming at you! unhelpful staff that won't even provid the details of an employee who physically assaults you, for asking them to be respectful!! Not worth a penny.

👍 Best pool in Stockholm. Love the fast blue slide, which only takes 5 seconds to go down. Great staff, who actually watch the water. Shame there's no café, they got rid of it 8 years ago to make room for a spinning room.
