If you book Centralbadet in the hopes of a relaxing, escapist spa day, you are likely to be disappointed. It is just too full for that nowadays. Every lounger, every shower, every spot in the water was continuously occupied even during my last visit on a normal Wednesday at 2pm. On the other hand, if you're going primarily to experience an art nouveau jewel and participate in a highlight of civic life in Stockholm, you are more likely to get your money's worth. The building was never designed to accommodate the crowds it attracts nowadays, but is nevertheless an architectural treasure. The main lap pool and the sauna area are Centralbadet's most enjoyable set pieces. The hydrotherapy area and changing rooms, on the other hand, are overcrowded, loud, windowless boxes strewn with damp towels. The reception team did a great job of minimizing queuing and providing a warm welcome. Reserving a timed entry slot in advance is highly recommended.

Wow! Never experienced anything like this. It was a perfect end to a Sweden trip. There are a few too many rules about swimming suits, and nobody seems to think the quiet areas apply to them, but still - Wow! Spend the money on a massage and explore all the various saunas and steam rooms. Personal fave was the dry heat desert wind room.

I got a gift card for this spa. And it lasted for about 7 months, during this whole period their big pool was closed off for renovations which was extremely disappointed. I know how beautiful and nice area that usually is. But they had nice relaxing areas with different saunas and a great rooftop with gym stuff and a sun deck. I also got a massage which was extremely nice!

I have been there twice in 2 months. The facilities are good and it is nice and clean. However both times I have been sitting next to people with their phones taking pictures of me (and my friend). Last time I left since it felt so uncomfortable. In my opinion phones and cameras shouldn’t be allowed in a room where people pay to enter and are in their bikinis or naked.

Visited centralbadet on a Friday and it was crowded. Many highschool students hanging out at the spa and too noisy in my opinion. But apart from that, the facilities, service and massage were good overall. Prices for spa and diff services offered are fairly priced vs other spas in town. I tried the 50min classic massage for the first time and I must say the ambience, massage and even when the masseuse spoke, she spoke in a calming tone and the whole experience was peaceful and I really appreciate it. If you would like to go for a spa and massage in Stockholm, i highly recommend centralbadet. Maybe skip Fridays or weekends as I suspect there might be too many people and the noise level can be high in the spa and you hear echoes everywhere. For myself, I'd definitely go back but only for the massage if I were to visit on a weekend. As the massage area is separated from the rest of the facilities so it's pretty peaceful there.

Great sauna and spa, probably the best in Town.. But bit expensive for a 3 hours ticket entry, also could be quite crowded and the ladies can’t stop chatting 😬😬 In the sauna speedos and bikini are not allowed ( thank God!🙌) but many people enter with it and you can smell burning plastic 🤮 I would love this place even more if you could stay naked even in the pools!( who will care seriously?!) And as I mentioned with one of the staff member will be really nice to have only men day and only ladies day in a way that all of the men will really relax with out all the women costanti you chatting!! Just my point of view but I am sure many boys will agree with me.. Big main pool was close for renovations they told me, hope it will be open when and if I’ll visit again..

Very nice and relaxing spa day! It's a shame that the main pool was closed due to renovation, but there was still a lot of other things to enjoy like various types of saunas, Roman bath and bubble pool. There is also a rooftop terrace with some gym equipment and sunbathing area from where you can see drottninggatan. The restaurant/bar on site is also very nice and cozy, although it is a little expensive.

Took my family here as a birthday surprise, and it was a big win! Extremely relaxing and lots to offer. Highly recommend as the location is very central in Stockholm and there was so much to do during our 3-Hour time slot. Will be back again soon!

Very poor people at the reception. The place is not ready to accept customers and the team there is very unprofessional. I went today and after I paid the full ticket price to enter for the swimming pool. I found out the pool is closed. When I went to the reception the receptionist didn’t bother about my problem and the fact that I paid an expensive ticket without knowing that the pool is closed. There is no any notification or information that the pool is closed and customers won’t utilize the full facility. Very bad experience !

Fantastic place. Clean, lots of sauna/spa/massage options and friendly/welcoming staff. The sauna area was very clean, lockers were plenty and great showers. The massage was exceptional with great smoothing music and calmness in the massage area. I would definitely repeat!

Great price and location. I couldn’t book online since I was visiting Stockholm and the receptionist made me a booking very efficiently. There is a wide variety of saunas and the spa area is spotless. I’ll definitely come back!

Extremely relaxing when it’s cold and dark outside. You can spend half a day easily with activities like SPA, swimming, Saunas, and massages. Slippers, towels, robes are given to everyone.

Amazing experience here! We loved it so much we went twice! As a foreign tourist I suggest watching what others do here to get a feel for proper social etiquette. The cold dunk is very cold but feels amazing and helps a tired body. Food was also very good, which we enjoyed after our stay.

A nice spa and wellness venue. Sadly, renovations are going on which means that parts are closed and not everything looks as pristine as one would expect. The massages are good and professionaly done. Prices are reasonable, especially considering that you are in central Stockholm. Staff is friendly and helpful.

A Stockholm classic. Make sure to take your time and relax in the roman baths. Mix in some kneip (cold water baths), and finish in the saunas. The massage is also worthy of a mention, all the times I've been here have been great!

Dimitri was my trigger point massage therapist. I’ve had a lot of massages in my life and used to work at an American massage therapy location. This was one of the best massages I’ve had. He was excellent. The whole experience was professional, relaxing and VERY worth the 60 euros paid for 30 minutes. I have lots of neck and shoulder pain and sometimes I leave massages feeling like I still have some tension, I was surprised to feel the opposite in just 30 mins. Also enjoyed the hot/cold alternating pools, although the main pool wasn’t open, this was a very enjoyable shock to the system!

Jugendstil atmosphere, historical interior but clean and cosy. We liked the big pool with mild temperature, several shared saunas (for both men and female) very welcoming and friendly staff. Due to the pandemic you might will need to wait in a queue to get in, but booking a visit in advance costs 100sek extra. We were first in a queue and waited 10 minutes instead. Recommend to plan a visit for at least 2.5 hours if it’s your first time. The beautiful garden is perfect for a glass of champagne afterwords.

Lovely place to go for spa day. Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is great too with lots to choose from. Their outdoor seating area is a great sunny spot for a coffee.

Everything about this experience was amazing. The building is maginificent. Being a big sauna lover myself I found their different varieties of saunas incredible. The dry sauna was my favourite but I also really enjoyed the infrared and the herbal sauna. The other facitilies were great too including the pool area, jacuzzi and plunge pool. Probably the coldest plunge pool I have ever been to. I perfect place to visit if you want to experience a Swedish spa.

Best experience of Swedish massage. Must try their sauna! Whole experience was so relaxing and unforgettable!

Love the place. Unfortunately, it’s the opposite of relaxation due to mainly tourists visiting, all saunas being packed, people being loud, and coming there to gossip and laugh rather than relax. The massage was great, but staying in the public areas just added on my stress.

A beautiful spa. Lots of varieties of water and sauna experiences, the staff were lovely and my massage was bliss. The venue is stunning and really clean. The only downside was a few couples talking in the sound therapy saunas (it could do with more signage about being quiet) but apart from that a pretty perfect experience.

Centralbadet in Sweden is an oasis of relaxation and wellness that truly lives up to its reputation. From the moment you step inside, the cleanliness of the facility is immediately noticeable. Every corner, from the Roman baths to the saunas and swimming pool, is impeccably maintained. The services provided are indeed next-level. Whether it’s the variety of treatments offered by skilled therapists or the state-of-the-art gym, Centralbadet seems committed to ensuring a top-tier experience. A standout feature for me was the stretching machine in the gym; it’s a unique addition that underscores the attention to detail present throughout the establishment. The Roman baths are a luxurious throwback, providing a tranquil ambiance that elevates the overall experience. Combined with the comforting warmth of the saunas and the refreshing swimming pool, Centralbadet offers a diverse and fulfilling spa journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Centralbadet to anyone looking for a rejuvenating escape or an invigorating workout in Sweden. It’s a place that masterfully combines tradition and modernity, delivering an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for my next visit!

The main pool was closed by our visit therefore the price for the open spa area and the sauna area seemed overall a little bit expensive. The staff was super nice and helpful and the facilities were overall clean. We still enjoyed our visit.

I had 50 min classic back massage. The massage room was in another part of the building than the reception & rest of the spa. Small, dim-lit massage room with calming background music. It was slightly cold in the room. A massage oil without scent was used. The massage was generally of calming kind - it was more like sweeping over various areas rather than being a real massage. If you want someone to work through your muscles, this is not the place.

Fantastic experience! I recommend it to all tourists visiting Stockholm. The aromatic steam room is just 😍 and the staff is very friendly. Thanks a lot !

Mixed experience today. Came on time for my prepaid booking, then waited in line for nearly 30 min to enter. The place itself is beautiful but was busy and noisy. A lot of visitors are probably not even aware of the supposed "library silence", the information could be clearer. Cleanliness was mostly good but one of the smaller pools had lots of what looked like skin flakes in it. Good variety of saunas, but again - with loud conversations everywhere I enjoyed it less.

We were having a nice relaxing time until a fire started and the staff were incredibly slow to react, and when they did, their actions were hugely inappropriate for the type of fire. It was concerning there were no fire alarms to activate, or extinguishers in public areas. It was clear the staff had no training in how to respond to this sort of event and it completely ruined our visit so we left early.

I had a 50 minutes massage with Anna Lena and it was excellent. Super relaxing atmosphere with nice aromatic essential oil. Anna Lena was really professional, gentle, and give great positive energy. They have jacuzzi too which also really great. I gave birth 9 months ago and this massage is like heaven ❤️

I did the Shiatsu massage today and it was the flattest massage I’ve ever done in my life. No technique, no pressure, it felt like a very superficial treatment. Very disappointing

I’m so disappointed. I’ve just paid £50 for the spa area and two saunas were not working including the steam room. The place is old, slippery floor and just not a great experience overall. No amenities in the bathroom, no water near jacuzzi.. I would be happy to have my money back today if management see the review.

Omg - I may be biased bc I love hot springs / saunas but this place is incredible. Got a great weekday deal booking the day of for excellent 30 min massage from an actual Thai masseuse + the sauna and hot baths experience. Really beautiful ambience and lots of different saunas and pools to choose from (even gyms if you want to work out). I think the hot bath could've even been hotter but I'm used to scalding japanese baths. Also, great friendly service!

Really nice spa in the city, particularly post renovation (2021-22). If u stay in Stockholm suggest to buy the multiple visit card. Early in the morning more quiet. Nice restaurant too, always interesting soup-of-the-day. Definitely worth a visit if u pass by Stockholm

Absolutely loved my afternoon at centralbadet. I got a facial by Malin using organic eminence products which was perfectly relaxing and I left glowing. Highly recommend this historical spa, especially on a quiet weekday.

Awesome place that has a 2 for 1 deal Monday- Thursdays. It has multiple sauna rooms and is a great place for relaxing. However if you plan on relaxing, I suggest do not go on a weekend. It gets really busy and you get more of the chatty clientele.

So wonderful! I’m looking forward to swimming in the renovated pool, which was closed. The daylight therapy in the restaurant felt healthy for me.

Coming from Germany, after a long exciting but exhausting bike trip through Danemark and Sweden, I finally arrived at Stockholm. Another coincidence lead me to visit this Spa: it is a beautiful and historic place. I was happy to talk to the owners who are very kind and interesting people that care about their visitors. The pools, Sauna, massages and services are a real treat and very pleasing. I feel great and relaxed to have spent a Saturday afternoon this place and can recommend it at all levels. Thank you!
