I wish I had read the reviews before going to this place (I don’t usually make this mistake, nevertheless my partner had heard the food was good here). The service is absolutely abysmal, we had to wait nearly 20mins and we still hadn’t been served so that we could order our food. The waiters had a very lackadaisical and extremely carefree attitude; trying to get their attention was also difficult. We looked around and there were two other tables which looked annoyed too due to the wait. The people working there seemed too busy socialising amongst themselves. Extremely unprofessional and lacking basic customer service skills. We got fed up and decided to leave. Just wish I had read the other reviews and not wasted my time going there. Lesson learned, don’t make the same mistake.

Very interesting taste experience! Since it was first time eating Eritrean food, I ordered sharing plate with 4 different dishes. I love the way it was served. Delicious (especially lentil stew and blended chickpea spread). Very nice place to sit, so calm and full of ambience. I'll definitely bring friends there!!

Tonight everything was just right, the injera, the music, the atmosphere. Next stop the bed, I belong to the sheets.

It was such a great meal and experience of Eritrean food, worth try it. Delicious.

Recommendation by my friend from Eritrea. We enjoyed the food.. Very tasty! And if the locals approve flavors then you can expect authentic Eritrean cusine here. Better enjoyed with Asmara beer and why not some local alcohol for digestive shots. Conveniently located at the subway station!

Great dining experience. First time trying Eritrean food and loved it. The staff recommended us two dishes with a variety of flavors and textures. Good waiting time and friendly staff. Many locals and super flavor on the food. Prices are fair in my opinion; you get your value’s worth. Portions were more than big enough for two. Would definitely recommend to try :-)

Food was very nice, but we had to wait: 30 minute before receiving our menu 30 minutes before receiving our drinks after ordering 90 minutes before receiving our food (main & starters) after ordering We did get free drinks and starters. If coming here, just beware of the long waiting times.

In a cave like hideout, this restaurant is located under ground just outside the subway entrance. Very calm and nicely decorated setting. Food was fresh and flavorful and the portions were perfect sized to leave a little room for dessert.

Amazing food ! We were In a group of 4 and shared 3 meals since the portions were huge! We tried one mixed vegetable meal and two with veggies and meat! And everything was just super yummy!! The ambience is cozy and I loved the art work they have on display !!

Very long waiting times even with few customers in the restaurant, they did not serve alcohol, the prices were more expensive than on the homepage andj the vegetarian dishes were bland and expensive. The meat was tough and of rather low quality and the atmosphere is more like a café than a restaurant. The staff however was lovely.

Food was really good, the ambience is suprisingly very cozy and the waiter was very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing food. The restaurant is not a high end classy one but a casual dinning joint. Expect lesser cleanliness and service. But it’s ok you have a lower expectation

Good food, pleasant experience - we were concerned about the waiting times we read in previous reviews - could not confirm that. Food came fast, without any problems (weekday evening, 19.00). Would go there again. Very good food - side dishes could be pepped up - especially the spinach dish. Some authentic/ special drinks could be included as well.

This place was really cozy and fun. Everything was good but the service was to long like 30-40min to wait. I recommend to call before u go there.

Cozy, relaxed place hidden underground. The chicken, lamb and beef were a bit dry for our liking but the sauces were all flavorful. Like everyone said, service could be improved but it’s a one-woman show there and the restaurant was quite full when we were there, so let’s cut her some slack. Most importantly food is delicious.

Ate a delicious vegetarian mixed platter here. Had read the earlier comments on slow service so made sure to greet staff on my way in. I found them lovely and very helpful. The food took a little longer than expected but was well worth the wait

After waiting for 2 hours for our starters to arrive and while being on the verge of starvation we finally got our orders wrong and miss-charged higher than what was written in the menu. 0/10 would not recommend.

Food took over 2h to arrive, the waiters were unskilled. It took 30mins just for our drinks to arrive and ….

This was my first time trying it and I kid you not, it was super delicious!

The owner has changed, therefore, also staff. Service is friendlier. Interior and meny is the same but many dishes are not as spicy as they were before. Currently (April 2022), they do not serve alcohol. For the previous owner: ”Wonderful food, but tbh the service could be friendlier.”

Very interesting place situated in metro, underground. You can see metro art. Service was slow but food was tasty. Big portions

I love this kind of food but this one was not it! is a little too expensive for what you get and the prices in the restaurant does not match with their website at all

Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in one of the metro stations hinder you from entering and enjoying some delicious food! Staff is nice and the food is incredible. I suggest the Eritrean beer -asmara- and the veggie or meat mix dish. We have it everytime we come here! We love this place :)
