Restaurant Swedish restaurant

👍👍 Traditional Swedish fare, well prepared. My child tried the Reindeer and called it the best meat they've had in a very long time. The veggie dumpling was wonderful as well. People often mention good, restaurant, nice, service, reindeer, dinner, delicious, menu, great, time,

They scam us in the new years eve dinner, they said it was no menu available and force us to have a 900kr 3 course dinner (no drinks included). They also offer a glass of champagne in the door that looked included but was 170kr extra. Almost 1100kr (over 100€) for a cheap soup, a piece of cheese cake, some meat and a brownie. Stay away from it.

This place is an excellent choice if you're looking for an upscale restaurant in an intimate setting. It get busy in the late evenings but if you have an early dinner you should be able to get a table. The service was amazing with a very warm and welcome touch. We order the torskrygg with fresh potatoes and it was absolute delicious. The meat balls with lingonsylt and pickled cucumbers were also very good. We opted for the charcuterie tray as an appetizer and we were not disappointed. This is definitely going to be a go-to place for us whenever we go to Stockholm.

From the outside the queue looked really big and the restaurant looked really busy. However, the wait for food was quite long and many tables were waiting even before we sat down. If you are going make sure to book, look through the menu online and order straight away as soon as you sit (for dinner). The starters were excellent, the 3 herrings was an absolute delight and the prawn toast was also very delicious. I strongly recommend the Reindeer steak as it is by far the best meat dish out of what we ordered. The salmon was quite dry as there was no sauce that came with it. The meatballs were meant to come with mash potatoes however we were not told about the change so the dish was a slight let down (as we have already tried the dish elsewhere). Sadly, the bathrooms were not hygienic (1 was blocked) or systematically inspected by the staff (especially during a busy service).

Probably one of the best meatballs I’ve ever had. Service was impeccable. Not so busy during my visit. I didn’t have to wait for a table. Very complete menu. 100% recommendable.

ery nice and cozy restaurant We booked a few hours before the dinner and the staff has been extremely kind. The good was very good, we tasted the reindeer fillet which was tender and tasty, the onion soup was very good and so the salmon. The only thing we’d like to say is that the kitchen was very slow We waited almost an hour for the appetisers to arrive, but the atmosphere and the staff were very kind and available for every need.

The national cuisine restaurant with its own history is located right in the centre of the historic city. There are many different locations: there is a patio outside, a 2nd floor for banquets and large groups, as well as seating by the bar. The prices are reasonable and the portions aren't big. So I suggest ordering an appetizer and a main course. The service has been very good. The service was friendly and helpful. My only comment, the kitchen took a very long time to serve the food, although the restaurant was not completely full.

Nothing to write home about when it comes to food. The beer menu is "beer" and the service level in general seems geared towards Gamla Stan tourists that will not come back either way.

Stopped by for dinner, and we had a great experience. Very open atmosphere, and the service was excellent and attentive. I ordered reindeer steak, having not had reindeer before, it was delicious - and creme brulee was a great finish to the evening.

Just the right choice! Since the first time I got in I feel that would be an amazing experience. The waiter was friendly and polite and really make me feel welcome. The place is very cozy and comfortable, with a great atmosphere. Free buffet of salad with few but enough fresh options. The entrecôte with tomatoes, béarnaise sauce and fries, being honest, was the best I have ever tried. Everything was perfect, I wish I could find this place before and I could be with friends or family to enjoy even more. I have to congratulate everyone there. I won’t mention the price once it can vary, but was cheap, very very affordable for all. Also very well located in one of the streets full of shops and attractions in the old town. Once more, congratulations! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Highly recommend this restaurant! Cooking is great. Portions are on the smaller side, but starter + entree are still more than enough to satisfy an average person. Plus, with smaller portions you have an opportunity to try more options :) Service is very personal and warm (provided to you by an international Swedish-Serbian team).

Good option if you’re in the city center! Had the meatballs and they were very tasty. A bit pricey, but good quality. The waiters were really friendly and attentive, and the service was fast!

Restaurang Mårten Trotzig is a nice restaurant located in a beautiful part of the city. The waiters are nice, professional and can recommend. It is a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner date. We ordered "roasted fillet of reindeer served with lingonberry sabayon, port wine sauce, butter fried french beans, potato and Västerbottens cheese fondant" and it was a delicious meal. Eating in the restaurant is a nice dining experience.

Went here for dinner last night and had the reindeer and then the truffle dessert. The reindeer was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and paired so well with the berry sauce. Cosy atmosphere for a cold winter evening too.

I've been here for 2nd time and I really enjoyed food, atmosphere, music and service. I would say each point has 5+ star. I tried reindeer meat with vegetables and sparkling wine. The best traditional food option ever😍

Carpaccio: Bland. Jerusalem artichoce soup: Awesome! Mains: Pretty decent. Fish was ok. Meat was a bit on the dry side though.

Very nice of the restaurant to welcome us on weekend night, freezing cold outside without a booking. The food was exactly what we wanted, very comforting, very traditional and very rich. Only took away one star cos I know we needed to walk a lot to work off the food! Plus they didn’t have much digestives on the menu!

Very good food a friendly staff. The food is traditional Swedish and I enjoyed the Hering und potatoes mash. The mussels in white wine sauce were really good as well. Overall a nice place in the old town.

Really good typical Swedish food. The classic meatballs with mash and berries were really nice. All the components of the dish complement each other. The service was also really nice. I appreciate they have English translations on the menu.

Sehr schönes Lokal mitten in Gamla stan!

It is a Fine dining resto; the food is good well presented, very small quantity for main dishes.

Great Restaurant with nice and friendly staff. The food was delicious! It was a noisy Saturday night, but I would still recommend going their to eat or drink.

In the historic downtown of Stockholm, an ideally sized menu including sweedish cuisine served by kind locals. We sat in the cellar, perfect for groups. Not so much if you have difficulty with stairs, but you can sit closer to the entrance.

Fabulous restaurant, we had a great dinner here. The reindeer was delicious and the waiter serving us was fab.

Food was good and waiters were very nice. But compared to other restaurants the dish sizes were rather small. The place was also very crowded and, thus, it took forever for us to order and then again a long time until we got our food. Again after eating we waited a long time for someone to clean the table and bring us the bill. All in all: nice restaurant, but no definite recommendation.

The reindeer was superb. Also good serving and right setting to decompress after a hectic tourist day. Worth the price.

A great place to spend an evening in Stockholm's historic city center. Super-friendly team and good food. I had crabs in dill mayonaise as a starter and the pepper steak after that. Both were delicious.

Visited late on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant had plenty of space. I had the porcini soup topped with roasted bacon to start and it was lovely. For the main I had the roasted fillet of reindeer. Initially I thought it was quite a small portion but it ended up being just the right size. Finally for dessert I had the crème brulé which was just ok.

Good restaurant, nice waiter. We had a salmon and the typical meatballs, food was really good and service was spot on. No too busy on a Sunday night
