This was truly an interactive museum, however PACKED with children. If you do not mind them and are interested in anything that has to do with music, theater, dance this is a museum for you. We also spent some time in the bottom exhibition "Swedish Music Hall of Fame" which was very interesting and diverse. We had a nice lunch break in the café next door.

This is such an underrated museum. I get the impression that people tend to think this is a place for children but as an old adult, I enjoyed it again and I still wanna bring my father to this place because I think he’ll enjoy it too. I’ve been to this museum before they renovated the place in 2017 and really liked the exhibitions of musical instruments. But now bits about the theatre is more coherent and the whole place felt more spacious than before and my overall experience was very good—I didn’t know about the renovation and I’ve almost skipped to save money but I’m glad I made it. (Admission was 140SEK for an adult btw). Also, they have such lovely staff. I got lucky and joined a guided tour in English (and I was one of the only two people attended this tour) and it was guided by a very enthusiastic dance expert. They have some fun installations that work (v important) and hey you know what, Gunhild carling is in the credits! Kinda missed the old school drum kits from the 1920s-1930s with the wooden thingies, though (and maybe there are a few things they could probably implement to ameliorate the museum). But it’s good and I highly recommend it.

Great with children, for they are free of charge. Especially the third floor is great where you can experiment with different music instruments.

Hello, I am Elvis Presley and I came back from the dead to write this review. The way I have been portrayed in the museum is to say the least... OUTRAGEOUS! SCANDALOUS! I am most upset, they only had hamburgers at my station in the museum! 0/10!

Interesting museum with a lot of variety. Thoroughly explained and a lot of interactive features, many of which can keep a child entertained for quite a while.

A brilliant place to just linger and try out different instruments that you don't just have at home. At least half of them I'm assuming you've never heard of before. Lots to touch and try out. As is generally the case in Sweden, completely wheelchair accessible and very family friendly.

A very pleasant surprise! I have two kids (4 and 6) and they loved it. Lots of interactive stuff, and play areas. And one room where my oldest kid got all the help he needed to make his own mask.

Visit the museum early when it is quiet and you'll have a great time experimenting and interacting with a lot of exhibited items. The staffs are super friendly and informative, and the museum is not big, but one of a kind when it comes to interactive exhibits.

Fun museum. Beautiful exhibitions. Nostalgia trip to see the Televinken, Sigrid on the potty, Skurt and other famous theater dolls. The music, dance and scenography parts are also worth a visit

This museum is very well thought out and has a lot of exhibits which are fun to interact with for children and adults- particularly the motion sensing dance to music and the chance to dress as kung Ubu. However given the amount of exhibition space devoted to artists and musicians from other parts of the world we felt the curators skipped showcasing Swedish clowning. 400 years of clowning reduced to a few photos. Theatre and the performing arts in general would not exist without clowning and this should be reflected in the museum design.

I am not a huge fan of modern performing arts, but I did find this museum entertaining. There were some parts I could have done without, but I am sure some would say the same about aspects I enjoyed. I loved the section dedicated to musical instruments and sound. I also enjoyed the display covering puppetry. One of my favorite things was the dancing stick figures, for lack of a better term. It followed and mimicked you motion while translating your movements into sound. That was very entertaining. Overall, it was a fun visit and I know my daughter enjoyed it immensely.

A really fun museum that was interactive. Could have spent longer there. Entrance is a little hard to find-- it's on the back side away from the street but on the end closest to the water.

Really interesting museum, very interactive exhibitions in the different arts of theather, dance, music. One of the staff gave us a 20 min intro to the museum, she was a welth of knowledge within dance, which we know very little about. This was making the experience even better. Easy to spend 3-4 hours there. Highly recommended.
