The place is all about cash grab. I was invited by a member to take my daughter for a swim. I understand that I need to pay for my daughter's visit, but I need to PAY to sit and watch her swim? Let's put it this way: your kid has a soccer practice, and the soccer field's management won't let you stand or sit on the bench to watch unless you pay $10. Basically, you have to pay "cover charge" if you want to go through the door. The attitude of management is even worse...."We are aware of the 1 star reviews, but we're always busy." ..."There are many swim clubs around. If you don't like it here, then go somewhere else." Uhh, that's exactly what I am going to do. I wouldn't send my daughter here even if it's free. Check the online reviews of Samena, and you will see what I mean. A few of our friends who are members said these guys always push people to buy memberships. If you tried to sign up your children without a parent's membership, then classes are always full. As soon as the parents signed up for membership, then classes opened up right away...hmm 🤔. Stay away from this swim club.

I signed my child up for April swim lessons a few weeks before they started. I got a call ONE HOUR before the first lesson (I was about to leave my house since we live 30 minutes away) telling us that they were cancelling our lessons because “not enough people signed up”. I have feelings about that reasoning but more importantly they could have given us MUCH more notice- I had prepared my kid and also taken time off of work. No alternatives were offered. I won’t look here for future swim needs.

I should have read all the reviews carefully before I joined the membership, especially those from recent years. Very poor management and attitude from aquatic programs and staff. Canceling private lessons without notification in advance. As a member, we couldn’t get answers for any problems. Got nothing but disappointing and anger. Wasted money and a whole year. Definitely would not continue membership here from now.

Love the facility here. Have one indoor and one outdoor pools for adults. Can be busy depends on the time of day visiting but usually you can find a lane for lap swim. Change room can be a bit messy if lots of people are there but usually the staff keep it clean whenever they can. Also super family friendly. Would recommend this club if you live around the neighborhood!

Please do not join this club. They simply asked to sign on small device and do not disclose that in the event of Membership early termination, you will have to pay remaining months of membership fee. Please read and ask before you join it. The staff is very rude, even if you have valid reason, they do not want to listen to you.

Very disappointed at their service. If you are trying to get swimming class there for your kids, don't go there. They will randomly put kids on classes that don't fit their level/age, and it's so hard to get the coordinator Amanda respond to your email. My kid even had to go through the same class again after she passed it, just because the miscommunication between Amanda and coach, and no compensation after that. We wasted our time and money twice.

Very poor management of programs and bad front desk. I reached in the morning at 9 with kids and not a single swim lane was opened for public. All occupied with camp kids. So we left. I called the front desk and they told me 12-1 is adult swim so I asked them if i and my kids who do lapses can share a lane and was told you can. Once we reached there the lead and the manager refused to let us in. Only apologies but no respect for others time and fuel. And by the way swim lanes were empty but they were not emphthetic towards customers. Just a poor quality management. Also outdoor pool the concrete is broken in few places and i dont see a plan to replace that. Worst people!

Overall my family has had 26 years of good experience. Samena is currently making a large investment in new concrete flatwork and much needed drainage system upgrade. It looks like it's going to be nice when all done. Much of the gym equipment is seriously dated and when things break such as plumbing valves, swim suite drier, or sauna lights, it typically takes numerous months to get repaired or replaced. Not sure why that is.

Visited as a guest of a member with my wife and our kids. We had a great time, and the kids loved being in the water. The facilities were clean, and it wasn't overcrowded. There was even a shallow pool that our baby was able to play in. It's not close to our house so membership doesn't make sense for us, but if we lived nearby we would definitely consider. Thank you for hosting our family.

All the previous negative feedbacks that were posted on Yelp continue to happen regarding 1) freezing/termination policy in which they provide misinformation and lacking communication; 2) worst customer service; 3) poorly maintained facilities; 4) poor or no response. Samena totally mishandles the freezing/termination policy. In my case, they promised they are going to extend my freeze period. But during the course, they changed their policy via email communication. They said we will be contacted later whether to unfreeze or terminate the membership, but they never followed-up to give us a heads-up. They failed to give people heads-up notice about the 30-day notice for termination and consequence of that is they charge you no matter what. This is definitely not a good and responsible customer service compared with other gyms or professional services where they have much better communication, flexible and good courtesy service and response. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for anyone or anything.

All the negative reviews here are spot on! The management is so disrespectful and their lack of courtesy shows up in all their business practices. There are always extra fees for services that they aren’t upfront about and you won’t get your money back if you complain. Unfortunately, the quality of the swim lessons have also been awful recently and management doesn’t seem to want to help anyone, they just want to take your money.

Welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff. I mostly use the pools. Right now the outdoor pool is being remodeled but will be in top shape soon. The deep water aerobic class is fabulous—great instructors who really care for the clients. Lifeguards are friendly & professional. The front desk staff are great! Wonderful family recreation center.

I've been doing a series of personal training sessions at Samena, and I'm impressed with the results and the overall experience. This gym has a warm and friendly atmosphere. My personal trainer Xavier was exceptional. He tailor my workouts to my specific fitness goals, and also ensured that each session was challenging and varied, which kept me motivated and engaged. His expertise in technique and form made a significant difference, helping me to see tangible improvements in my strength and endurance over the past year. My only complaint is that the facilities are limited and some of the equipments are out dated. I am hoping they can get some of the newer workout machines as LA fitness has. Overall I highly recommend Samena for anyone looking for professional training environment. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your fitness to the next level, this is the place to be.

MEMBERS ONLY EXCLUSIONIST CLUB. Do not go here. They have exorbitant membership fees and will not allow the rest of the public at their facility. This excludes anyone who has a regular job or essentially, is not rich. It also excludes anyone who is travelling from out of town and might not be here for long. I actually called the pool earlier in the day and was told that yes, there was a drop in swim later that day, and it was no problem. Drove to the pool only to be told that I couldn't come in without being a member. What a shameful way to conduct business.

I am giving this 5 star review to "Samena Club" primarily because of my experience with the personal trainer Xavier. I have been training with Xavier roughly since Q1 of 2021. At that time I started the personal training session because I was training for a endurance hike. However, even after I completed the hike, I decided to continue with Xavier since it was so good for my health and fitness. Xavier is very knowledgeable regarding the various postures and alignment. For instance, I used to experience regular neck and upper back pain and he added some exercises to my sessions and now that aspect is drastically better. After working with Xavier, my fitness has improved a ton, I am more flexible and my weight training ability has improved dramatically. Xavier knows exactly when to push the client vs. when not to. More importantly I feel good when I have a session with Xavier since he is very encouraging and caring. I intend to continue the sessions with Xavier for a long time and would happily recommend him to other people as well! Kapil
