This is a wonderful rest stop on the freeway with a very large and well maintained bathroom area which has plentiful soap dispensers and even had warm water in the taps (which I don't recall encountering before). The food court has a good variety to choose from, and there are a lot of shops (many of them specialty snacks) in what is almost a mini mall between the bathroom area and the food court. The scenery around the service area is also very pretty. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that the non-smoking laws are not enforced, and I encountered rude people smoking in or in front of the bathrooms who continued smoking even when I pointed out the no smoking sign a meter or two away from us and went into the service area building to look for anyone who might be security or staff who could make the smokers stop.

Great resting stop on highway 3 compared to any of the rest stops on highway 1. It has facier food shops and restaurants and big restroom. Come take a leak here and rest up, and get some yummy food to eat on the way to your destination.

Welcome to a world class gas station. I have never seen anything similar and I think I will not in my life. Calling this a gas station is really a downgrade. This is an excellent place where to park, rest, eat and take a walk. Plus you can refuel your car. Your trip will be just better after you stop here. No matter where you see going.

One of the best stop. Not only for toilet but there's a good food and shopping to do. Snacks lovers or those looking for quick bite this is the place. Clean toilet. Spacious parking area. Many and happening outlets. Muslim friendly place where you may find halal good and organic as well.

This is a Highway Rest Area that looks and feels like a mini mall . I arrived there at night and was taken aback by the appearance : it has surreal and warm LED lights , inviting design and multiple levels. The stairs are lit in psychedelic style ( at least to me ) LED lighrs. If you are there at night , it feels like you are entering some secret den in a computer game ! :) Back to real business . The hassle with long road trips is nature call. The toilets are spacious , clean and well designed . Outside , looking at the building , there is a fine dine Japanese restaurant ( the decor looks that way ) upstairs . I was told by others there is really a mall upstairs. ( Well , got no time to explore as we are just having a small stopover ) The first floor is the common eating area . The decor inside the common eating area is more like a supermarket combined with a Singapore style food court . ( To my Singaporean eyes only , I confessed :) ) Many stalls there sell confectionery , cakes , bread and also hot dishes . The seats in the seating area is partitioned by small aquarium style partitions with various fishes and even live shrimps ( not for eating !) Me and my companions ordered some local 肉羹 and I must say that stall is overworked . There are crowds waiting in front of that stall and they made some mistakes with our orders . Taste is so so. But being tourists , we have nothing much to say , but am glad that we can fill our stomachs with warm food in the 15 degrees plus temperature out there in Taiwan. I hoped I can explore more , but , had to get on with the journey. Btw , this service centre is run by 新东阳 . No wonder. The concept simply redefines what highway service area ( at least for those that I been to ) , in my opinion.

The rest area of Shinshui Expressway was formerly a place designated for residents of the Taichung port area, and over time it has been renovated and transformed into a rest area filled with food service, shopping and outdoor seating areas. Some architectural forms have been adopted that give a special atmosphere in the rest areas, and you can also watch the cloudy sky on a refreshing summer night

What a great rest stop. Who doesn’t like to eat with fish swimming in front of you after driving for hours. Food court is decent, the gift shop is out of this world. Good major gift companies set their shops here, so you can do one stop gift shopping. The bathroom is spotless clean. Love it!

It has almost everything. Food, snack, coffee, ice-cream. The restroom is very clean. The Udon noodle that I had was delicious.

Craziest highway stop I have been! It’s massive and has great options! It’s super busy and you can get pretty much anything here. I can understand there might be issues keeping everything clean because the volume of people but the second floor area with aquariums everywhere is kinda cool.

Nicely decorated service area and perhaps the major one most people would like to visit due to its location. My last visit was a very sunny day and it felt relaxing after you had your body stretched getting off your vehicle. The dining area was packed with visitors and I’d say those restaurants were brand names of moderate choices and also lots of snack shops available next to the dining hall. I was also impressed by the automatic conveyor belt that carried the used plates to the cleaning area, another improvement that reduced the need of manpower.

Rest stop! The exterior is very beautiful! There’s plenty of seating inside and outside. Bathrooms are outside! They’re squat bathrooms. Bring your own tissues!! Washing hand station is outside the bathroom! There’s lots of food and snacks to buy. It’s cooling and spacious here. parking is easy!

Lots of food options in the food court. Large separate area for shops such as 新東陽, Haagen Daz, and clothing stores. Unique set of fish tanks and a plant/water display by the stairs.

Big rest stop place with adequate parking. Lots of shops with a variety of snacks. Although food stalls for meals are more of the same common ones you see in other stops. Food quality is so so. Enough to get you by on a long drive.

A rest stop among rest stops. A crazy huge selection of snacks and gifts are available at numerous different stalls and shops. Had a bagel with cream cheese and me being from the east coast of the USA, I can tell you it was not a bagel and cream cheese lol. It was more like a doughnut and danish combination. The bathrooms are of course clean and well maintained. A good place to stop and stretch the legs after being in a car for a couple of hours.

On our way to Tai Chung Airport, we stopped by the Qingshu Service Area for a delightful dinner. The first floor of the service area was teeming with local Taiwanese cuisine, but I opted for the third floor's Japan Sky Dine, which specializes in Japanese food. I ordered their ramen, and while I can't vouch for its authenticity, I must say that the noodles, meat, and broth were all incredibly delicious.

Pretty good rest area with a decent selection of food and snacks. There is no usual convenience store like 7-Eleven though but there is an ATM and Gas station attached so you’re likely to find whatever you need. Taking off one star because the toilets are just average in terms of cleanliness.

The most beautiful service area I've seen so far in Taiwan. It has aquariums with beautiful shrimps, lobsters and fishes. With a lot of food stalls to choose your food to eat at, after a long drive. 😄 They even have Haagen Daz if you're having a sweet tooth. 🤤

Like almost all the other rest stops in Taiwan, this one is also very nice and well maintained. Tons of bathrooms. Also has plenty of restaurants. But I didn't have time to try them this time. But few years ago I did...

This is one of the coolest rest stops in Taiwan. There's an aquarium inside I have sturgeon which is what caviar comes from. Is it massive food court, convenience store, and my favorite a croissant shop. If you like sweets get the raspberry croissant it's super delicious.

Cleanest and largest rest station I’ve been to in my life. Feels weird to give a rest station 5 stars but I was simply impressed. Huge food court (basically like a shopping mall food court), with one vegan food stall which I appreciated. Super clean and modern bathroom set-up. All the toilet stalls came with bidets and detergent to clean the toilet seat. Sinks are outside which was a bit confusing at first.

One of the best views from a freeway rest stations. If you’re on this road going south in Taiwan I recommend a stop over.

Lots of cars during the holiday, the toilet is clean. It's the biggest resting spot in Taiwan, known for its beautiful night view, and has aquarium in it.
