OmakasE K offers a captivating journey into the heart of Japanese cuisine, serving up a delightful mix of traditional flavors and contemporary interpretations. This review highlights the restaurant's ambiance, cuisine, service, and overall experience. Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Upon entering Omakase K I was immediately struck by the tranquil ambiance that beautifully mirrors the essence of Japan. The minimalist design, with clean lines and warm wooden accents, evokes a sense of serenity. The soft, traditional music playing in the background enhances the atmosphere, making it a perfect setting for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

I've never tasted such freshness in sushi before! The food practically melts in your mouth ! Plus the staff will take the time to introduce you to every dish before you taste it. Don't take my word, go try it yourself when you are in Ho Chi Minh!

we had the special omakase and it was very good. i enjoyed every dish, actually more so than the nigiri course (nothing too special). we were the only diners that night so it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves :-). great service. reasonably priced omakase for the quality of food you get…about $125pp (truffles, caviar, wagyu included). i highly recommend to try the omakase here for a special occasion. reserve at the sushi counter.

this place is amazing!!! modern styled but very friendly and welcoming! speak very good english... order the omakase menu and let him surprise you you won't be disappointed! was here for lunch... should v come for dinner! great service overall thanks David for "guiding" me lol lunch menu was light but very delicious! miso soup was great and the nigiri were awesome! the rice is pretty warm and low in acidity which is confusing at first but I talked them up and they said that the chef just wants it that way and very few are doing this... it actually makes perfect sense here: the fish and the rice kinda melt in your mouth and the slightly warm rice is more kinda "sauce" and adds texture and mouth filling umami! I haven't had this before but I liked it very much!!! highly recommended that place and I wish them all the best with their business here in saigon! please like if this post is for you! thanks! ps: absolutely ask for the fois gras hand roll! I know nothing authentic here but it's just soooo delicious lol

Was not the greatest omakase experience I’ve been too. The photos on google maps looked great, but when we arrived, the place was empty and the fish was not very fresh. Nigiri and the Wagyu were very chewy. The tuna selection was great! Miso black cod was also very delicious. Overall, 3/9 of the dishes were great! Also, the service was great. My only gripe would be that the omakase felt very quick and did not seem like they put too much effort into each course.

Well, nothing extr a ordinary. Maybe for HCMC but with 3.5 and 5 million pere person per menu....it's crazy expansive. And the portions... let's say that after 1 hour you would be hungry.

I had a great time here at Kasen. Not only the fresh look for the food but also the feelings of all the sushi slowly melt in my mouth with its flavors blooming, so satisfied. The quality of their food is worth the price. Kasen is one of a kind for sushi in Sai Gon.

Definately the best Japanese food in Saigon for sure. From the start to finish. The staff is super awesome and know the menu very well. Atmosphere is great. Clean and tidy.

Very nice sushi, it remind me of very high end sushi restaurant in Japan, the rice and meat ratio is good, which there is not too much rice to become a rice ball, we ordered the Supreme sushi as we only interested in sushi, it is good. But kind of expect a Miso soup to finish off the regular sushi set. The most amazing is actually Foie gras sushi, they have a very unique sauce which is sweet and the texture of it is amazing. The staff speak very good English, maybe will try their Spring Omakase next time, but strangely it is missing the price on the menu.

We were visiting Ho Chi Minh City for a week and wanted to escape the summer heat and have a leisurely lunch. A friend from my Japan days recommended Kasen so we decided to give it a try. The location was really convenient as we were saying in District 1 and could walk over. The interior was newly renovated and comfortable. The owner and staff were welcoming and explained a bit about the concept and the menu. They speak English, Vietnamese, and Korean. We managed to get two seats at the counter, which was great for chatting with the owner and staff, and it made for a fun afternoon. We could also watch them preparing many of the dishes. We decided to go for the omakase experience and it was a great choice. It wasn’t just course after course of sliced fish but quite a wide range of dishes that were both creative and tasty, traditional and contemporary, all made with the best available ingredients. It was really delicious. There are a variety of other menu options if you don’t want to go for the full omakase. If you want some sake to accompany the meal, there are also some great choices and we tried a few recommendations. Their cocktails are also really creative and tasty. While not an inexpensive meal, we felt it was good value, especially compared to what we get back in Singapore. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would go back.

One of my favorite omakase place in Sai Gon. There sushi is very consistent everytime i visit !!! Ranging from 900k to 1500k i believe. Their wine pairing is a lot so me and my friend always share :D Recommended!

When I ate here 2.5 years ago, it was a real discovery and appreciation for Japanese cuisine especially how delicate and well balanced sushi should be. I was spoilt and since that day, Kasen is the benchmark. Returning today with friends was incredible. Kasen was on point! Come and ask for chef Chu and be well inducted! Oh, it was the Australian (Manjimup) Black Winter Truffle season so our meal was beautifully paired with an abundance of aromatic fresh black winter truffles, taking the meal to the next level! 😋
