As someone who was born and raised in Hawaii, I can say that Manoa Poke is the real deal when it comes to authentic local Hawaii food. The poke doesn't come with any toppings like edamame or mango. They serve comfort food like mac salad, a classic lunch side, and spam musubis. The spicy and shoyu salmon poke are probably my favorite things on the menu, since I crave raw fish all the time - the salmon they use is so creamy. When I’m not in the mood for poke, I LOVE their salmon belly that’s coated with an addicting teriyaki sauce (i.e. I pour the leftover sauce over rice and other things) and mochiko chicken, which is a deep fried marinated chicken that tastes like a sweeter version of Japanese karaage chicken. The people who run the shop are so kind - go and support them!

An authentic Hawaiian poke experience in Somerville, miles away from the islands. Only open for three days a week, Manoa Poke is one of the most popular poke spots in the area. Every time I passed by, I saw a queue of eager patrons waiting to get their poke fix. I finally visited on a Friday, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I opted for the Mix plate with salmon and ahi tuna in a shoyu marinade. The fish quality wasn’t exactly on par with what you'd get in Hawaii, but the flavors were spot-on. I especially liked how the toppings were kept simple, letting the fish take center stage. The cucumber kimchi and green salad offered a crunch that complemented the tender, well-marinated chunks of salmon and tuna. However, my favorite was the BBQ Salmon Gohan Special. Imagine a bowl of rice topped with shredded BBQ salmon that brings together the rich flavors of salmon belly fat with the subtle sweet notes of barbecue sauce. Every bite was an absolute delight, satisfying and flavorful in all the right ways. I also decided to try their Mochiko Fried Chicken. While it was on the dry side—which isn't entirely surprising for a place that specializes in poke—it was still decent. What sets Manoa apart from other poke spots in the area is its commitment to authenticity over modern fusion tweaks. If you're looking for an unadulterated poke experience that transports you straight to the Aloha State, Manoa Poke Shop could very well become your go-to spot.

This place simultaneously ruined fried chicken and tuna for me because of how good it is, no other place (poke or not) can come close to how incredible their food is. I’ve been waiting 3 years to eat here because I’ve been living in Texas and it was well worth the wait. The portion sizes are huge, the sides are incredible and the people who work here are so kind. Telling people about how great Manoa is is now a new personality trait.

Tied for best poke in greater Boston. The fish is as fresh as it gets. The staff is super friendly. The non-poke options are delicious as well. The line was kind of long and I wish they had more seats but their food is perfect.

Manoa Poke is by far my favorite local spot. Having a bad day? Order Manoa. Wanna celebrate? Order Manoa. Want to impress picky, visiting relatives? Order Manoa. Want something nice for a date night picnic? Order Manoa. Everything is always stellar. The guava cake literally has brought a tear to my eye—and every single poke I’ve tried is phenomenal. They’re also the nicest group of people ever! You truly can’t go wrong.

Best authentic Hawaii poke behind Hawaii. The food is great and staff are very friendly. This is a place worth driving to for poke. I highly recommend it. You wouldn't be disappointed, only thing is they do sell out, so order early online. If you're not into raw fish. They do have fried chicken and Kalua pork, too. Everything is good. Oh, don't forget the desserts. Delicious

I love this little Hawaiian eatery. I ordered takeaway and the food showed up within 20 minutes. The tuna was fresh and the sides of Mac salad and kimchee cucumbers were delicious and paired perfectly with the tuna. I don’t think I can ever go back to the poke bowls I’m used to. I’m really happy to have tried this place and im excited to try out the other dishes on this menu!

Ordered salmon shoyo and spicy tuna for to-go. Food portion was pretty good with two scoop of rice, a scoop of macaroni, some pickled cucumber (very delicious btw) and salads. Rice was a bit dry but the poke was really good. It’s my first time visit the shop so the cashier gave me two small pieces of cakes. It was passion fruit flavor with a bit of orange jam if I remember correctly, great dessert flavor for the summer!
