    So before I criticize the business I have to compliment the new manager Matt who was very helpful throughout our entire experience. Now for why this became the worst night I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. After being seated we ordered a round of drinks and some food, we was happy enough at this point, however just after our food arrived we was offered a better table in a previously reserved area due to a family requiring a smaller table for there children. We obliged and with the help of the staff we moved our half eaten steaks to the other side of the restaurant to our new table. As soon as we was seated the "manager" came over and said sharply you can't sit here, we explained that we had been moved here by a member of staff and another manager, she replied with I don't care, you can't sit here it's reserved and you have to leave. She left after I made it clear I just wanted to finish my dinner in peace, I got a response off of her of don't speak to me like that. I thought my request was fair. While trying to eat the remaining of our dinner the owner came over and disturbed us, and continued to debate about our seating, we made it clear that they had ruined our evening and that we would like our money back and would leave. We felt belittled and patronised like I've never felt before, it was disgusting if I say so myself. We was refused a refund for our drinks and our meal as apparently because we had nearly finished our food we had to pay for it, not taking into consideration the fact that they had ruined our night completely. I really like the staff and venue in the most part but the management did not strike me as caring to much about the customer and just wanted us out the way. To be clear I would still my £75 back that I've been left to foot after being practically kicked out the restaurant

    Absolutely awful experience. The service was so incredibly slow especially considering how queit they were when we arrived. We got here at 1840 and ordered food at the same time as out drinks. The food arrived 45 minutes later, medium temperature. The lemon chicken was dry and the children's hamburger had been completely cremated and was very thin. The waitress asked how our meals were and we told her. She came back and said that the chef apologises and would offer us a free dessert. We accepted. We finished our meals and 30 minutes later she came back to clear our table but 30 minutes after this we were still waiting to get absolutely nothing. The waitress was slouched over the reception desk talking to the receptionist so we told them that we would just rather leave it because it's just not worth it. Some serious lack of professionalism and just mediocre quality food at best. Don't waste your time.

    Lovely meal, but ruined by a very long waiting time. Lots of staff standing around talking and not sure what they are doing, we got told if we order a starter or dessert we would be waiting longer than the 45 minute wait, we waited longer than this and we had to ask where our food was, I was just about to give up and walk out then it came. Great food but be prepared to wait long for it. I don't think I will eat at this branch again.

    The food was lovely both times visiting, visited twice in a week as it was so lovely. The lads josh & Louis were so friendly and welcoming both times. Very friendly and nice atmosphere- will be returning again. Food portions are really big and great value for money.

    Not the review I really wanted to write, but I feel honesty is always better so someone else maybe doesn't have the same experience. We were seated at 12pm, the server didn't even take our order until 12.25pm and the food was served to us until 12.45pm. So from being seated to getting our food took 45 mins. There wasn't a single other table in the restaurant with people sat at it, so they weren't busy. This is so bad because the table was booked (via telephone) a week in advance for 12pm. The restaurant opens at 12pm so as far as I'm concerned the kitchen should be prepped, prepared and ready to cook. If they aren't, then don't take table reservations until 12.30pm. After 45 minutes, I asked the server where the food was, and rather than apologise, he tried to correct me as if I was wrong. My Mum and Dad had the mixed grill platter which looked and tasted amazing!!!!!! Unfortunately my rare steak looked ill, you can tell it hadn't been seared/cooked in high temperatures, the fat was inedible. See picture. I will really be reluctant to eat there again. Poor day!

    There's something rotten at this restaurant. The staff speak with attitude and are mucking about and swearing on the floor. Kitchen staff come out mucking about with waitresses. We had to wait 50 minutes for two pizzas and a hunters chicken. A further 5 for a club sandwich. We were just told that standard wait was 30-45 minutes. We asked to talk to the manager and a lady came out on crutches looking very scruffy. We asked if it was acceptable to wait 55 minutes for a sandwich to which she replied we would be better at Whetherspoons and she proceeded to list off all the fine dining restaurants she had eaten at. Great. If you think it is acceptable to wait 55 minutes for a sandwich you're doing mental gymnastics with yourself. Take it on the chin and at least apologise. The club sandwich took longer because you cooked all the moisture out the chicken but at least the bread was soggy to make up for it. Unfortunately it is obvious the staff lack respect because they don't respect general management and they don't respect her because she can't do her job properly and is in denial. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Also they get you to pay before eating, I imagine they've had bad experiences of people walking out so get you to pay before.     Well where do I begin with what turned out to be a shocking meal?… We arrived just a little before 7:30pm, and was put on a table which was in the corner of the bar area. We sat down and was waiting for 20 minutes before our food/drinks order was taken. We was told the food would be a 45 minute wait which we accepted. After an hour and 10 minutes I asked where our food had gone. It then came out from the kitchen. However, only 2 out of the 4 meals arrived. After once again asking where the other meals were we got told they had “lost” the order. The so called manager came and told us the other meals would take around 8 minutes. 15 minutes passed and still no food. Myself and partner had eaten our meals and friends were still waiting. Once their meals arrived I noticed that the pizzas we had were both named “meat feast” however the ham which was given to my friend was completely different. When I mentioned this to the manager he asked the kitchen staff to which they explained it was apparently “stretched ham”. I mean what an excuse! After asking for a refund we was told a refund could not be done so we explained we wanted something to happen for what was a shocking meal. All he could offer was a free drink for myself and my partner. Which we thought was terrible. We eventually ate our meals at around 9:45pm. 2 hours and 15 minutes after arriving at the restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of staff within the restaurant however, the service was disappointing. The front of house staff seemed more interested in talking behind the bar. If you’re after a nice meal and good service I would not recommend visiting here. We are still wanting a refund for our meals.

    I have never been so disgusted in my life , not busy on a bank holiday Monday …. Told by reception to go to the side of the pub where it was packed , whilst the other side which was not offered ( had no customers ) was occupied by staff eating , our lovely waitress once we asked if we could sit the other side took us there straight away , we ordered drinks which came within 10 minutes , fine , starters didn’t come out after half an hour , … so I went to the bar ( as we had finished our drinks ) to order more and to say our starters hadn’t come out , the bar person politely said she would look into it , the starters then came out straight away …. My starter ( pate) was fine , the garlic bread was fine , but the goujons were burnt to a cinder ( which we didn’t complain about ) After 15 minutes of finishing the plates hadn’t been cleared , we ushered the waitress over to say we had finished and we were ready for the mains , which she acknowledged, after another half an hour the mains didn’t come out , so I went to find a member of staff , again as soon as I asked were the mains were and that my child had fallen asleep as he was tired and hungry we wanted a refund JUST for the mains , …. …The mains came out but we didn’t want them …. We had a child … the manager came over very rude and aggressive, stating incorrect timings about how long we had been waiting and demanding for us got get out , we again said we have not eaten , we want a refund for the mains ( we were not happy to pay for the entire meal with her attitude) but we didn’t mention that . As we had a child in tow we left , but will be taking this further as my partner is very high up in the hospitality industry and knows his rights , If you do decide to eat here , please refuse to pay upfront ( as we had to ) so we have lost £50 ….check companies house … not good news since taken over , no wonder they want to take every penny

    Poor service with disinterested staff food was very slow on arriving even tho the venue was half empty! The food arrived burnt and tasteless and dry. Nothing like a previous visit a few years back! Not sure if it’s under new management but the place has gone down the toilet. Definitely avoid if your looking for good food and good service. Complain didn’t want to issue any sort of refund

    Visited this place for the first time yesterday. Our meal was booked for 5.30. It took until 6.30 to get our starters. There was no cutlery available so had to ask for it when our starters came out. A lot of staff however absolute nightmare to actually get any table service. The food was lovely and the portions are big. The interior is lovely, ambient and comfortable seating. One young lady was attentive when we got her attention and was polite. Other staff were hanging about and talking amongst their selves. When cleaning the tables the floor was missed. The food on the floor was visible! When leaving one young man was a bit too happy to say goodbye, yes yes goodbye goodbye. I dare say the Managers need training on how to train their staff and keep them under control and professional. Definitely will not recommend Tap haus and won't be coming back.

    Visited the other week with my partner who decided to take on the eating challenge, the staff moved my partner in-front of the bar whilst I had to sit on my own with brick walls between us as the staff weren’t able to accommodate the both of us due to their main focus being on the quiz night. I ordered the veggie supreme pizza and had the chips leftover from the eating challenge. I then went home and woke up in the middle of the night with the worst stomach pain and began throwing up continuously for hours throughout the night, I have never had any problems like this with food before so this was unexpected. The only thing I can comment on about the pizza was that it was very bland and the chips were super greasy. My partner didn’t enjoy the eating challenge and said the sausages tasted like plastic. On the positive side the atmosphere is nice and so are the staff but I will never be visiting again from my own experience.

    Called in on the off chance Saturday lunch time. The staff, Matt and Lewis, were polite and helpful. The food was delicious, lots of choice and a wide selection of beer.

    Was asked how the meal was (after we'd already finished eating) i told them the bread on the burger was all burnt, and was almost aggressively told "well i can get you another piece of bread if you want" I've heard good things about this place so thought id try it out. Food is bland, badly cooked, and to top it all off, it has made my friend quite ill shortly after getting home. Certainly wouldn't bother again

    Although they take orders electronically they still get it wrong. My mate ordered 2 cappuccinos, 1 with chocolate and 1 without. 2 cappuccinos turned up both with chocolate. I ordered the burger with chips and sauerkraut. The food turned up, burger, chips and slaw and a goats cheese salad. Both got taken away then my burger turned up, again with slaw. After the amount of time it took to arrive I couldn't be bothered telling them they messed up again and just got stuck into it. On a positive note the burger was really nice, shame about the bun it was in. On another negative, the staff wonder off while you're talking to them, ignorant buggers

    Went for a mid-week meal with friends. The food was sensational for all in our party. Probably the best steak pie I have ever had! My friend nicknamed her fish and chips...the whale! Louis the young waiter was an asset to the place...fabulous service with a great sense of humour.

    Been here several times now ! Never had any issues with food or its price, served hot and delicious. On this particular visit, I was told only the bar tables were available despite the restaurant side being almost empty both on arrival and departure, the bar side was busy and there wasn't really much space for 4 of us, we managed to move to a much larger table, of our own accord, when another guest left. We will certainly be back but perhaps FOH team could be a little more helpful in preparing a suitable space when inviting us in.

    staying for one night ,met by really nice manager who checked us in and took us to our room. We went down for drinks we ordered and paid and no drinks came we waited 15 minutes asking twice then when the drinks came the glasses were so dirty . We asked for clean glasses and got new pints staff were so friendly . Food all looked amazing plenty of people eating . Our room was clean and had everything for the price but we found the window would not shut and the shower rubber seal was hanging off but on a plus we had a lovely view. Bit mixed in review but staff were faultless and so was the food.

    11 of us turned up on spec. This was sorted out immediately but it was lunchtime and not particularly busy but even so it was no bother. Each person ordered individually and paid for themselves which gave the chef an assortment of mains and lunch time sandwiches. Food was prompt and service was very good. All 11 of us enjoyed our meal with no complaints .

    It's taken me years to visit this place, and it was worth the wait. The food was amazing, my husband ordered the knuckle and we were amazed at the size of it. Friendly staff, prices were good and the food great.

    Booked online - speedy response and due to a large group (there were 10 of us) we had to pre-order. Very efficient and helpful emails when we had to change some pre orders. Deposit required for booking - no problem. When we arrived, everything had to be paid for when ordering, drinks, starters - not the main as we had paid a £5 per person deposit, then desserts paid for on ordering. Although this wasn't necessarily a problem - we were unaware of this until the initial drink and then starter orders were placed and then payment requested - fine if we weren't used to having a tab and then splitting the bill at the end. Overall great food and very good service - just be prepared to pay as you go. Would definitely go back again.

    The food was Amazing. Very friendly staff, especially young lady, called Anna. Nothing was to much trouble for her. Served with a lovely smile said it was lovely to see us back. On leaving she said for us to enjoy the rest of our evening and see you soon. Definitely a credit to the company.

    Food is lovely. Service is poor. Waiting an hour for starters, floors not cleaned when tables cleaned, staff hanging about chatting instead of waiting the tables and arguing amongst themselves. A couple of the staff were nice and helpful, but had to call them over from the other side of the room.

    1st time ever been for a meal, service was fine. My wife and mother in law had chicken burger. They marked 9 out of 10, lovely chicken. My father in law had steak pie he said was OK. I had fish meal everything was excellent BUT the lemon sauce to it was way to strong. Spoilt the rest of the meal. SHAME. Cos of that reason 7 out of 10. Would think twice in going back. Thanks anyway for our experience.

    Fairly quiet in there during my visit. Staff were friendly and helpful - happy to allow a small sample of beer to help you make your selection. Good range of German beers along side ciders, ales and spirits. Good food menu with German specialities all of which seemed reasonably priced. Food came quickly and was tasty.

    Wonderful attentive staff(esp Katie 🙂). Great choice of food and drinks. Didn't have to wait long for anything. Was really look after. Also the room in the Lodge part of the building was great and had a lovely comfy bed.

    Food is amazing and immediate service was quick and efficient. Strange to have to pay upfront for drinks and food and twice now the food has not been delivered as quickly as expected with amount of customers. Food was worthwhile but needs to be delivered more expediently.
