We came with 2 adults and 4 kids (7, 13, 15, and 18 years old) and all of us had fun. 7yo couldn't pick the best part, she was having a blast. 15yo enjoyed being able to virtually land a plane and drive a car. 13yo thought the laser cutter was the best part, and I liked being able to have a keepsake. 18yo enjoyed the aquarium the most. My only complaint is that the touch tank with sting rays and sturgeon is too high up or deep. Even my tallest (at 5'11) ended up with a soaked sleeve, my 7yo was completely soaked. It's worth it to have the experience, but an easy fix for the museum. Also, there are no lockers or coat checks so plan to carry everything if you're not using their parking garage.

Best place ever to take kids. We didn't stop exploring for four hours. The staff was amazing with our field trip class.

Had an amazing time with the family here! Perfect way to spend the afternoon with little ones on a freezing cold day! We were able to purchase our tickets easily at a little kiosk before going to the check - in desk, though there was no wait. Tons for the kids to do and see here. The aquarium was captivating and the hands on activities and exhibits were fun & educational. The kids did not want to leave! And thank goodness for heated underground parking!

Please come prepared to have a good workout & have fun. Not only for families or those with children, bring yourself and see the inner child let loose! Jam packed with so much to do and see guaranteed to keep you busy for hours. We started out on the lower level where the aquarium was located; my son loved being able to pet the stingrays in saltwater and sturgeon in freshwater. We stopped by the different lakes and rivers next where there was a real thunderstorm simulator that everyone loved, here you'll see land turtles, sea turtles & discover some hidden surprises. Next stop put your life jackets on and hop on board to the great challenger sailboat! Discover, virtual realities, physics, music, water system, and so much more. Membership recommended! *Water fountains located in many different areas! *Many restrooms available *underground parking (discounted for members) *Small Cafe includes items such as pizza, hot dogs, nachos, quesadillas, water, Gatorade, etc. *leave jackets in cars *bring strollers, small wagons and snacks *elevators available

I loved the variety of the place. Not only is it an interactive place that gets both children and YOUR inner child involved, it has a whole aquarium! The entire place is quite inquisitive! Definitely worth a go. If you're planning on parking in the parking garage the first initial turn is quite tight, so bring a mini coop πŸ˜‰ All-in-all was amazing!

This museum had so much to do for the kids. We had such a blast! The aquarium part is super small and we were expecting more but other than that everything was better then we expected!

This place was great for my 4 and 7 year olds! We spent about 3 hours here and really enjoyed the aquarium area. Lots of interactive exhibits and if you ever wanted to understand how gears work, this would be the place to go.

The place is full of surprises, and just entering is the Science and Technology Museum, where you can see and experience how to generate electricity. There is vr on the second floor for children. On the first floor, you can walk in and see a scale scale of the Great Lakes. Underground is the aquarium, the whole glass wall, as if you are at the bottom of the sea. My kids and I really love this feeling. The child was very happy. Parking is easy, either in a parking lot or on the street. Please bring a trolley with you if you are bringing children, because my son and I played here for more than 3 hours.

Kids had an absolute blast. They have a vr station which was an obvious favorite. The gift shop is way overpriced as are the snacks but everything else was great. Kids really had a great time.

We had a great time. I think 5+ years is perfect. I saw many school aged children on field trips who looked like they were having a blast. My children are more of a toddler/infant and found they werent able to engage as much as the older children. Nonetheless it was a good experience, and visually really cool. Lots to do and see! We went during museum days for the discount. The underground parking was nice for this cold weather, but expect to pay a premium amount. Stroller friendly. Bring your own drinks, we forgot and paid almost $3 for a bottle of water. Overall cool experience for winter weather!

This is a nice enough science museum with a small aquarium. We've been to dozens of science museums across the country, and this one is average. Unique features included the Great Lakes model and the Les Paul exhibit. I loved the direct access to Lake Michigan and Wisconsin Pier.

We used to come here often. We come here and would stay for hours because they enjoyed it so much. They also have a small aquarium which is a plus! The annual membership is great. You get to go to other museums at no charge.

There was soooo much to do here for all ages! I took my daughter and my sister (ages 2 and 12) and they had an amazing time. They were both entertained and there was something for everyone. We stayed for about 4 hours and we still did not get to complete everything (but my kiddo was exhausted). I would recommend to everyone visiting Milwaukee. Even as an adult, I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

AMAZING! But, why headphones for the music? Lice is a common problem, so maybe a speaker would be better. But everything else was amazing! Would recommend! But for those with anxiety, maybe go somewhere else, it's a bit much

Really cool hands-on, it was fun for the adults as much as it was for the children. We got to touch sea creatures. The Aquarium area is very relaxing. There are many different areas to explore. Plan on spending the day to get the most out of it because there is a lot to experience.

TOTALLY enjoy our morning! We’ve lived in MKE for a few years now, but hadn’t made it to DW yet. Very informative and fun. We will definitely be back, maybe for a membership. Staff was helpful and informative. We appreciated the cleaning measures.

Very nice children’s museum. Plenary to do and some interesting hands on exhibits. We went on a class putting when several other schools were there. Even so, it was well organized and there were really no lines. Would recommend as a fun family putting for kids around 8-12 years old.

What a great place to hang for 1/2 a day! The aquarium portion, weather over the great lakes, and so many challenges, physical and mental, the kids loved every minute of our visit.

This place was magical. I had never seen such a place, and for it to be on the water was just icing on the cake. I was brought here for my birthday it was the best gift. We were able to see them prepare for a wedding, and I wouldn't want to get married in a more magical place.

We arrived, not really knowing what to expect. We chose to eat here before seeing the exhibits, and it was pretty good with decent pricing. There wasn't much seating when we went to sit down, but it was manageable. The exhibits were super fun and interesting! Not only did our child have fun, but so did us parents! Everything was interactive and super fun. At one point, we were getting ready to walk out and noticed there was an area we didn't see. We are glad we did see it, tho. This visit rated pretty high on our family vacation this weekend!

Very much HANDS ON Science museum. Great for school groups. Something of interest for all ages! A dickens to find parking but worth the walk if required.

This is the second time we have been to the Discovery museum. Our family had gone a few years ago and enjoyed it so much we decided to make the 4 hour drive. If you have children they will enjoy the hands on displays! Nearly all exhibits allow for touching! We had eleven of us, ages 2 to 60 and everyone had an enjoyable time. The only problem was finding parking, I advise you to get the parking garage ticket.

Had a chance to stop by discovery world and though there were a few things that disappointed me, overall it was a good experience! Inside and outside, space is both large, clean and easy to move around in on all ends! Service was good to, attendants were patient, nice to talk to, and helpful! Exhibits were good on all ends though I won't lie the aquarium was only a LITTLE bit of a let down because it's under renovations but aside from that? The displays and interracactuve activities were fun and just neat! At a reasonable price, Discovery world was fun and I'd visit it again when the aquarium is back up completely! Videos and pictures are of the outside and inside of the establishment and VARIOUS neat things I saw!

Our family of four visited recently. My almost 5 year old loved almost everything. My toddler especially liked the animals and sensory-oriented exhibits. Some of the electrical stuff might be a little much for younger kids but is still really cool. For our family, membership is worth it if visiting 3 or more times a year. This includes great perks like $6 parking (unlimited visit duration), gift store discounts, and free admission at STEM museums around the world and nearby (Field Museum and Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago). Great if your family travels a lot or make it a reason to travel!

The main purpose of our visit was to see the Les Paul exhibit. If you've ever picked up a guitar, it's a must see and we were not disappointed. The aquarium was interesting as well. There is much more to explore but we were pressed for time. Great place for kids, especially for those interested in science.

Great place to take the kids and let them explore! Went with the kids for a field trip and they had a great time. The little aquarium area was our favorite and also the automation area was nice also. My kids loved the axoloto fish. 🐟 They should really think about making the aquarium bigger or even opening another area.

Enjoyable science center/discovery museum. Can easily spend several hours here, have come as adults, with children as young as newborn through middle school, and all find activities to participate and engage in. You could easily spend hours here exploring the various levels and educational learning tasks. Lots to do! Middle schooler said he liked the VR area. The best, elementary kids said they enjoy the gift shop the most. We personally like the music area and aquarium. Bonus the setting on Lake Michigan is lovely, and just walking the grounds is enjoyable.

An incredible science museum that is fun for kids and adults! The staff was amazingly patient despite the business of spring break. Having reciprocity with so many other museums make buying a membership a great investment!

There is so much I can say about Discovery World, but I would like my pictures to speak for themselves. The engineering/robotics area was so much fun for an adult like me, and my daughter loved the aquarium. So great to have something like this so close to home, we will be back very, very soon!

Discovery World is an absolute dream for any modern, sleek styled couple! With wide views of the lake with gorgeous architecture, your wedding is sure to be a showstopper! I also love that it's right in the historic Downtown Third Ward!

Visiting from out of state and this was so much fun! What a cool aquarium that was interactive and had a variety of sea animals. There are so many hands on exhibits which my kiddos thoroughly enjoyed. We also loved how educational it all was. The views of Lake Michigan were beautiful too. It was a non busy day and so we got to really enjoy every part of the museum. It would be so worth it for a membership if I lived here.

Discovery World offers discounted rates for those with some gov benefits- the $5 ticket cost is worth a nice walkthrough !! Discovery World offers touch stations for some aquatic life and that’s pretty cool.

  • 5/5 Amber M. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice museum. I was a little disappointed there were many things that were out of service. There were also a lot of kid groups, which made it hard to get to the exhibits. But the aquarium made up for it- really neat!

  • 5/5 Megan M. 2 years ago on Google
AWESOME PLACE! The staff is amazing. I know it’s advertised as a kids place, but my 30 year old brother may have had more fun than some of the kids there. This place seriously satisfies my urge to touch everything in sight.
