My
partner
needed
a
battery
replacement
for
his
CASIO
SGW-100
Twin
Sensor
Digital
Watch.
When
we
brought
the
watch
to
Fast-Fix,
the
guys
said
it
would
cost
us
$40
"because
this
model
takes
two
batteries,
plus
replacement
job".
Well,
Amazon
sells
new
SGW-100
for
precisely
$41,99,
so
we
were
not
ready
to
pay
that
much
for
replacement
-
it
seemed
a
better
decision
to
get
a
new
watch.
When
we
said
so
to
Fast-Fix
people,
they
argued
a
new
watch
was
much
more
expensive.
Luckily,
we
had
checked
Amazon
before
seeking
replacement,
so
we
knew
it
made
no
sense
to
pay
$40
for
battery
only.
We
ended
up
buying
a
new
CASIO
Pro-Trek
Atomic,
and
I
decided
to
try
and
resurrect
the
old
SGW
too.
Here
is
the
math:
$6,97
for
a
pack
of
two
Energizer
2025
batteries
(and
surprise-surprise,
you
will
only
need
ONE,
not
two
as
Fast-Fix
claimed)
+
$4,39
for
Eyeglass
Repair
Kit
(which
I
already
had)
+
watch
a
YouTube
video
on
how
to
replace
the
watch
battery
for
inspo
(free!)
=
approx.
5
minutes
fiddling
with
the
watch
and
$3,5
for
the
battery,
and
the
old
watch
is
back
to
life.
So
$3,5
agains
$40,
which
is
a
rip
off.
Go
figure.
