I usually don’t leave reviews but the experience I received today was unacceptable. I was literally given my results in the hallway, right by reception/waiting room area, to the point the patients started to stare at me. Usually you are given test results in an exam room. Yeah not here and it was repeated twice. I’m not sure as to why they thought this was ok. Also, the Dr.’s appearance is not professional at all, leaves out of room with one patient, does not wash his hands or even wear gloves. I have never seen anything like this. His clothes is literally falling off of him and he does not introduce himself at all.i understand everyone has a struggle but this is not acceptable and I wouldn’t even be comfortable coming here for routine visits or emergency. I was referred here due to employment physical and I will not be returning after this.

How is this place still open? Receptionist RUDE and not HAPPY with her job. Waiting room was really dirty, the doctor looks homeless. Finally went into dirty room, exam sheet was not even changed out. Nurse was rude, had her hands on her hips like I owed her something...I will stop for now!!! All I wanted was a DRUG TEST, maybe I should taken drugs before I went...lol

This place was awful! The receptionist was extremely rude, the supervisor- the receptionist mother talks down to other nurses, the doctor mumbles when he talked and didn’t make any eye contact and forgot i was waiting for him to come in! I went in for dizziness and nausea that i still have after 2 weeks, not feeling well i went outside because i don’t want to hear people talking asked if that was okay receptionist said yes they have speakers, not even 10 minutes go by i got passed up because receptionist couldn’t see me after another 20 minutes of waiting the doctor looked in my ears and my eyes and took my blood pressure, then sent me on my way. They didn’t do anything besides make it a pain to be there.. This place needs to either change its ways or be shut down. I will not be disrespected for not feeling good.

This urgent care really needs to go... the receptionist who works here is really rude!!! They don’t care about their patients. They’re really really slow... I waited 2 hours before they call me. The doctor who works here doesn’t wear mask... dirty environment and the urgent care is really outdated!!

I wrote a lengthy review but it seems to have disappeared in Cyber Space. Basically, I begged any prospective patients to NOT go to this place if they have any choice at all. Everything written by previous 1 star reviewers is true and then some. I added my experience but rather than rewrite it, let me just say that I went to this clinic on Friday and by Sunday, I ended up in the ER at our local hospital. Please visit a witch doctor before you go here. Please take me seriously. Even if you have to wait at the ER to be seen, it’s better than waiting here and given unforgivable treatment. I’m a retired nurse and I’m still in shock over how medically inept and bizarre this physician (?) is. I seldom complain, look for the positives in people but I’m telling you, avoid coming to Avalon Urgent Care if at all possible. I wrote this because I care about what happens to people needing medical facilities for whatever reason and I simply want to help.

The doctor prescribed my two year old an adult dosage of antibiotics, which we didn’t realize until we were already through with his treatment. He also gave us practically no attention, never introduced himself or even tried for a moment to make my sick child feel comfortable or cared for. He basically listened to his heart and wrote him a bad prescription. Second star only because it turned out my son did need antibiotics and he felt better soon.

If I could rate it a zero I totally would. My experience there was horrible. I’m from San Diego and most clinics I’ve gone to they were very nice but I had to move to 29 because my husband is in the military. Worst clinic ever. I got injured at work so they sent me here. I went into the room so they can take a look at my arm. The nurse that took my height and weight was very nice. When it came to the doctor he was in a hurry and didn’t care of what I had to say about what was going on and he was just mumbling and rolling his eyes. He said he was going to take X- rays but before they started I walked out called my job that I didn’t feel comfortable proceeding because of how rude and unprofessional he was. NEVER Ever come here.

Avoid this clinic at all costs!!! Brought my 3-yr-old daughter here b/c she had an eye infection. Our visit was horrible. The receptionist had no manners, we had to wait over two hours to be seen...and the doctor (Dr. Evans) was the absolute worst. He was rude, he held my daughter down while he washed her eyes with saline solution, and said barely two words to us (other than ordering me around). I'm considering reporting him. Please, PLEASE go elsewhere if at all possible!

I know that alot of people are giving bad reviews, the thing is there not a primary health clinic, key word "urgent" . They are a urgent care. People are going to have to wait little considering it's the only option before having to wait 6 hours in our local ER. People just got to be patient and understanding.Dont be so inconsiderate .

Apparently they don't see you if you're breastfeeding but don't ask if you're breastfeeding. Dr Evans writes prescriptions without asking if you're allergic to medications. So he wrote 3 prescriptions I can't take because I'm breastfeeding and one that I'm allergic to that would also absolutely harm my baby. When he said he's getting me cough syrup I said oh I'm breastfeeding and he said " I don't deal with that you have to ask the pharmacist or your OB" and proceded to prescribed me a bunch of stuff that's not safe for my baby.

I come to Avalon when i am in a pinch since I have Kaiser but the nearest office is Palm Desert. The front desk is always willing to help and will help find you answers. The Dr is usually pretty quick, which i appreciate, and has helped me with many of my health concerns. The Dr visit fee is very competitive to other urgent cares in our area. Lunch time is 2-3pm. Go at least an hour before closing.

You wait hours just to be told that the doctor refuses to treat you, they won't even take vitals or give you a cursory exam. You just get denied without explanation and told to go to the ER. I will be complaining to our insurance provider about this place. You also risk a staph infection just by walking in the door.

I really like this urgent care and the staff is friendly, I usually get seen in 30mins and for 60 dollars to see the doctor is pretty convenient and I've had nothing but a good experience here.

I know a lot of these reviews are negative, and Ive experienced fairly rude responses in the past. I rated 3 stars because Dr Evans has always listened to me and has tried to help how he could. I appreciate that. There is one thing though, and I'm not going into detail, no names, but the way you speak to an individual can really have serious repercussions. The ADA and CDC has guidelines and rules for how you deal with certain situations. I wanted to give one star for how I was addressed, but who knows, maybe they were having a bad day. Please stay safe and healthy. That's goes for Avalon staff and visitors.

Worthless Place to go to! The Receptionist obviously hates her job and treats people like trash, maybe if she stopped eating every 20 minutes and got laid once in awhile she wouldn't be such a €unt! I'm shocked this place hasn't fired everyone and started from scratch with people that at least somewhat like their profession they chose.

I took my 2 years old in to get checked because hes super sick and in pain first they wouldn't let us in unless we bought a mask, yes we paid for them then they have us waiting forever just to see him, remind you he's only 2 and in need of care and 3 the receptionist the blond lady was very rude and disrespectful I'm very unsatisfied about the service

I am VERY pleased with my experiences here this week - from the front office team to the clinical staff. I was treated with kindness and respect. I feel like EVERYONE cared about me and my injury...AND my after care. Dr. Evans had to be quick (it IS an "Urgent Care" and they are very busy) but he was incredibly thorough and did everything I hoped he would. Stephanie (?), the MA, took great care and has continued to do so with my subsequent phone calls - even asking the DR a couple of questions for me when I called today AND scheduling me follow up appointments (which I doubt is her job)....and with a cheerful spirit! Honestly. I couldn't ask for more. Whatever changes they have been making are working. 100%!

Dr tells me I can't get all my meds on one script and that I have to be seen again to get my other med's. Then when I do that he says, nope can't help you Dr evens is a putts. They lost my paperwork, then gave me the wrong meds the other day cause they couldn't find my chart. Then today it's oh I can't help you. Even though he said he would help me if I signed back in to see him again.

I went to Avalon Urgent Care on Dec 4th to be treated for a cat bite. It wasn’t too bad, I just needed antibiotics. I was seen by Dr Robert Evans. He did not say hello or introduce himself when he came into the room. He appeared to be disoriented. He was wearing a sweater pulled messily over his scrubs and his hair was unkempt. I told him I needed antibiotics. He asked if I had allergies and I said amoxicillin. He then took me over to the sink as he put on a single rubber glove, but only pulled it onto his hand halfway. He then took some gauze and clumsily wiped my hands with a mix of iodine + peroxide, told me the nurse would be back with my dressing and the prescription would be in the front office, and then he left. I got my prescription and took it to the pharmacy only to find out he had written me a prescription that I was allergic to despite my telling him my allergies. He had also written the prescription out to my middle name instead of my first name, causing confusion at the pharmacy. I had to go back to urgent care to get a new prescription. The nurses were apologetic and seemed annoyed with the doctor, so at least I didn’t feel totally alone. Avoid Dr. Evans. This man did not seem fit to be working in general, let alone as a medical doctor.

I am a work comp patient, I have been attending Avalon since December 2022. My Dr is Dr. Evans. The staff is great and can be very helpful. If you don’t mind a little wait time, which all dr offices have. And if you can speak slow and not be disrespectful, you will be happy and welcome here. If you are rude and demanding, just go to the next place. They also have great hours of operation. Also, a convenient pharmacy next door.

Everyone at this facility is that I've shared my time with have been professional and courteous. I do understand that they are one of maybe 3 medical testing facilities available within our community and can be overwhelmed with visitors and wait times can be longer than expected. Despite some of us growing impatient with the services we seek, I've not once experienced a lack of professionalism. They seem to be doing as much as they can to get us going, and I appreciate their services.

So lovely, after coming from a close by clinic that were awful to me and made me feel so embarrassed (and dumb as an outside resident) sandy at the front desk was a breath of fresh air and got me in right away. I don’t leave reviews ever but I really appreciated this. Thank you sandy and Avalon!
