Roman Theatre of Carthage

😐 Here's my super review of most Carthage and Sidi Bou Said attractions and some tips:
*first, if you haven't bought your ticket, my first advice would be to skip Tunis as a destination. Worst trip of my life overall.
*second, do not trust all reviews nor all pictures, many pictures do not match in...

The Roman amphitheater in Carthage
Historical landmark
👍 Nice ancient place to visit in Tunis
There 40 levels ( seating rows).
I didnt like the fact that they have set up a stage right in the middle which is disturbing the natural look of the place.
Toilets available and plenty of parking.
This is a 5 minutes walk from another roman ruins ( villa romania)...

Salammbo Tophet
Historical landmark
👍👍 Very interesting to visit this site with the conflicting history. Was it a sacrificial site for babies, or a place that babies were buried due to the high infant mortality rate of the punic times? Fascinating with a tour guide.

North Africa American Cemetery
Military cemetery
👍👍 Solemn, dignified and beautiful. A fitting tribute to Americans lost in battle in North Africa during World War II. If you’re in the Tunis - Carthage area and have an hour free, this cemetery is well worth the visit.

Cisterns of La Malga
Historical landmark
👍👍 This was my favourite site of ruins in the whole area because:
1) the magnitude of it - the cisterns are huge and relatively intact. The amount of water they held in their reservoir is incredible.
2) it is fairly unknown so you will be the only one around and can explore at your leisure. There’s onl...

Site archéologique Carthage
Historical landmark
👍 The remains of the ancient Carthage. You will need just few minutes to walk through the entire place as it’s not so big. The views towards Tunis are great. It’s a shame that the museum that’s a part of this place is closed for about 5 years.

Baths of Gargilius
Historical landmark
👍👍 The beauty is that no one comes to this site any more so you have the experience to yourself which is pretty incredible, especially at sunset. I scaled the dirt wall from the road to get here but if I had checked more carefully, there is a side road with a little gate to access the area
