👍👍 This waterfall is gorgeous! It’s is a very short walk with a lot of stairs but very worth the walk down. Once you get down there, there’s so much to explore. You can explore the rocks, the stream, or even go for a swim in the water hole created by the falls. It’s a seriously s beautiful place and o...

Mossman Gorge
Scenic spot
👍👍 Mossman Gorge is beautiful and honouring of the Yalanji people, the first people of this land. The hike was peaceful with so many different trees that I was endlessly fascinated and grateful. The Mossman River is full and vibrant, providing a refreshing dip before heading back the cultural centre an...

Clamshell Falls

👍👍 What a gem!! This place must be the most amazing waterfall to visit in Cairns. Easy walk up to the top which is easy enough for kids. The rock area by the falls can be hard to walk around on so kids will need to be supervised. The current pushing down the falls can also be strong so you need to know...

Nandroya Falls
Scenic spot
👍👍 Absolutely spectacular falls! There are three different places to see falls along the track and the walk is not challenging. Just requires a little creek crossing. If the current is not too strong it is safe for a swim. Just be careful - you don't want to accidentally step on something sharp. I woul...

Mount Hypipamee Crater

👍👍 Nice formed path up to the crated with a lookout platform. The track to the falls is uneven and slippery. Last time we were here we seen a cassowary, but no luck this time. The carpark has a toilet and picnic area. The walk is only short to the viewing platform.

Red Arrow Circuit Lookout
Scenic spot
👍👍 I have been living in Cairns for months now and ran up this track so many times. The lookout towards the airport is my favorite location in Cairns. I recommend to hike either red or yellow arrow track up and the other one down. Will take approximately 45 minutes.

Yungaburra Platypus Viewing Platform

👍👍 We stopped by in the evening and waited an hour for a brief glimpse of a platypus. Went back in the morning and saw him (her?) again after only 5 minutes. We then drove a few minutes over to the other side of the Peterson creek trail and saw two more platypuses, a whole colony of flying foxes, and...

😐 A pretty spot to visit. I wouldn't use the word spectacular like some but it was a pretty spot to visit, safe for a dip, not deep at the moment, a few spots at chest height. Carparking both sides of the creek. A few cm deep over the causeway.

👍👍 Beautiful place to catch the first light of the day over the mountain tops. Veiws from the mountains to the sea and all that cairns city has to offer. Lots of push bike riders, so remember to take it slow and be cautious whilst driving up and down. The road up to the lookout does have a massive gate...

Crawford's Lookout

👍👍 Great little stop on the highway. Just pull up on the road side, and there will be a fence and a path leading to the lookout. You could do this on the way if you were visiting Nandroya, Tchulpa and Walliacha falls. Great view, but please don't leave your rubbish behind.
