👍 County pub, where made to feel comfortable by the lady running the place. Didn't have time for a meal, but the beer was cold (that's the most important thing 🤣) Relaxing atmosphere out the back.

👍 A nice place for lunch . Great friendly service . Basic menu including , focaccias ,burgers, pies and baked potatoes. A variety of cakes as well. Reasonable prices.

👍👍 I attended the gothic weekend, grabbed some takeaway scones and a coffin lace cookie. I was told the cookie cutter was hand made by the baker for the event and the smiles all round and proud of their work. Delish sandwiches and glowing service.

👍👍 Very interesting ruins of a once thriving industry. Well facilitated with toilets and seating area, fireplace. The ruins have good info boards around the site giving a good insight into the workings and layout. Plenty parking.

👍 Lovely walk on gentle uphill track. Took a packed lunch and had a nibble at top. Takes about 1 hour from town (Maldon) or could park on Davies Lane for shorter hike.
