👍 The only surviving synagogue in Cologne, originally inaugurated in 1899 and then reconstructed and reopened in 1959. Unfortunately it was closed when I visited. The nearest U-bahn station is Zülpicher Platz.

👍👍 Striking simple interior, very calm feel. Went to see Barlach's angel. The angel is wonderful, both in its design and history. Nice little souvenir shop.

😐 The Malakoffturm was fort that was part of a chain of forts that defended the river. it's not actually possible to visit the tower and you can only look at it from the outside, which is a bit boring after a minute. It's okay. It's a nice bit of history, but I wouldn't go out of the way to visit unle...

👍👍 An interesting museum located in the city center near the Cologne Cathedral. The collection includes many eminent authors from Picasso to Andy Warhol.

Remains of a Prussian redbrick fortress, dating from 1825, located in the Volksgarten public park.
