👍👍 Took shinkansen train back to Tokyo from here. Enjoyable journey with the shinkansen. Make sure prebook the seat first, it is on time train. About 3 hrs travel time to reach Tokyo from Osaka. Big station, need to know where to take the train from. Each platform has a number.

👍👍 Himeji Station is really convenient with a quite high frequency of Shinkansen. Cmmuting to local & Ltd Express is about 5 - 10 mn walk, everything is easy and well indicated. Local Red Wings are comfortable.

👍 This is a JR station on San-in line and from this station one can take sagano romantic trains. The romantic train run from torokko kameoka station which just few mint walking distance from jr umahori station. Jr station is not usually too busy but in Autumn and Spring time it will be very busy
