Best places: Fish stores in Velsen-Noord, Netherlands

😐 Fish was very nice, enjoyed out sandwich smoked salmon and our portion kibbeling. Hope next time the lady behind the counter can smile, rest of employees were more service minded.

😐 We had kibbeling and fried mussels. Fresh fish and crispy batter. However, it was all way over spiced, so that we could barely taste anything but spice and sauce. Would give it 3.5 stars.

👍 Good place to get your fresh fish. Especially a whole Salmon is my favourite here.

👍 Four stars reflect on the price. For a Dutch guy, eating fish should be a few times a week, but in this place I could not afford that. 👍 Famous fish restaurant at the end of the harbour of IJmuiden. On the opposite side of the harbour the enormous bulk of Tata Steel. Busy restaurant, reservation strongly recommended. On entering we noticed some too loud music which however fortunately was subdued quickly. Service was quick, friendly...

😠 Never ask for fried mussels here. You then get a fat-soaked, soggy breadcrumbs (!!) bite, which, when peeled off like a thick coat, turns out to be around a mussel of about 15mm. Fish is a wonderful product and it is incomprehensible that as a fish shop you treat it so badly.
