👍👍 Wonderful place! The lady in the information room was very attentive and helpful. Very welcoming, the city offers roasted and hot Portuguese chestnuts in front of the castle. Very attentive, the man who roasted the chestnuts.

👍👍 There is a small roadside parking from where you can take some difficult steps to reach the shrine. The landscape around here seems out of this world

Cathedral dating from the 12th century, with twin towers, striking facade & notable vaulted ceiling.

😐 Don't get me wrong, the place is beautiful. But we went to see the waterfall and there was none. Somehow travel guides forgot to mention that you can see it only during some months. So for sure no waterfall in September and October.

Dam spillway with a dramatic waterfall-effect look, on an artificial lake accessed via hiking trail.

👍👍 Small but very interesting museum showing the old water turbines, generators and devices still in their place from the early 20th century. Nice staff that guide you around and explain everything. Also an audio guide (English, french...) is available. The 3€ per person are well invested ;-)

👍👍 Beautiful cycling path. Former rail line. 55 kilometers through rural villages. Some nice cafesalong the way. Mostly downhill from Tomar which makes for easy riding.
