Mountainous national park home to wolves & falcons, with waterfalls, farms & quaint villages.

National park in a mountain range, with native species, hiking rails & medieval villages.

Archaelogical park with tours of major paleolithic carved rock art sites & a modern museum.

👍👍 Parc de Monthesinho is a superb place for long long walks in nature. Chances are, if you're there in December, that you will never meet another human. Lots of beautiful birds and apiary's. Very nice small towns. Information could be a little more in English, not all the visitors speak/read Portugese...

👍👍 Lovely river beach with everything you want! Lifeguard, toilets, boat hire... loads of shade with a choice of sand or grass... ample parking... great view of the nearby castle and a great value cafe/restaurant... Enjoy!

👍👍 A lot of thought went into this, and it's very well built, with lots of relevant information on the wildlife and bird-watching huts. Absolutely great. It's an especially marvellous feat considering it's located next to one of the most dismal towns I've ever had the misfortune to visit.

👍 Lovely circular walks which change significantly with the seasons... Half the walk is by flooded Meadows in the winter/spring which completely dry out in the summer. The other half through beautiful Cork Oak woods. There are a couple of hides to watch the prolific birdlife, especially on the floods...

👍👍 Wonderful place and journey through, on my way to Camino de Santiago. Love Viana de Costelo. Beautiful beaches. Never ending. Highlights of my stay in here's, climbing the Santa Lucia. Well worth the effort.🙏🎶❤️

👍👍 This is a true hidden treasure for bird lovers! Bring binoculars and a good camera, because there is so much to see here. Truly glad that we went here. Hope it stays hidden because it would ruin it if too many people came here.

👍👍 Mythical rally location. Very beautiful, photogenic. It has a picnic area, rubbish bins, lots of shade, parking, among others.

👍 For those who doesn't have a car to go.. you can take the train from Coimbra, towards Figueria da Foz and alight at Amial/Ameal station. Then you have to walk into the town Arzila. OR, you can also take bus 21 from Coimbra and alight at the Arzila stop. Do not click on 'Paul da Arzila' on Google map...
