Viewpoint Pico do Areeiro
Observation deck
👍👍 Start at Pico do Arieiro, hike to Pico Ruivo and finish at Achada do Teixeira. Only possible as a guided tour, but this way you don't have to walk back all the stairs to Pico do Arieiro. Amazing views all the way, especially the first kilometers from Pico do Arierio. Even view to Ponta de Sao Louren...

Ilha das Aves Madeira Lda
Park
👍👍 Lovely bird park and very helpful staff. I could honestly sit here all day listening to the birds and the flowing water of the ponds. Had an interactive experience at the end when we walked through a large cage with the birds free all around us.

Palheiro Nature Estate
Park
👍 A beautiful park that I personally liked better than the botanical garden in Funchal. Old trees, exotic plants and beautifully designed paths form an interesting park that invites you to linger.

Fonte da Telha
Park
👍👍 I love this beach, it's my favorite. Too bad that this year they remember to do works on their access, which makes accessing it very difficult. It doesn't remind anyone, in the middle of summer to do works of this type.

Parque Dona Beatriz do Canto
Park
👍👍 Beautiful park, very well kept and always worth a visit. Free entrance, however, since it's part of private property, during the summer it's only open in August. Overall just great for a nice relaxing walk.

Old Cabouco the Recreational Forest Reserve
Park
👍 A nice place where to have a picnic. There are barbeques (with wood and water) toilets, tables and a playground for kids, all surrounded by a wild and luxuriant nature. Unfortunately the playground is a little bit too essential: just two swings, a slide and a seesaw.
