👍👍 Lovely sandy beach, easy access from Hovertravel, just 5 mins walk. Bars, pub and cafe on the way. Dogs not allowed since May to end of September

Highcliffe Beach

👍 Love this beach. The car park is right at the top of the cliff. You can walk along the cliff or go down to the beach. A bit limited for dogs as between May and September you can only walk them on the beach between groins 8-12, but there are still lots of paths you can use.

Avon Beach
Beach
👍 We had a lovely time at Avon Beach. The sand is mixed with pebbles but it's not overly pebbley meaning the kids still had loads of fun! Theres a shop, coffee shop, fish and chip shop, ice cream shop, a park just off the beach, crabbing just down a little further and a pub, basically everything you w...

Lee on the Solent beach
Beach
👍👍 First visit to Lee on the Solent, very nice place it's pebbly, but overall lovely little clean beach with good walkways easy access to chippy and shops. And you get great views across the Isle of Wight. You can spot ships, surfers and container ships heading in out of Southampton

👍👍 Very nice pebbly beach. This part of the beach is dog friendly all the year. Not busy at all. Cafe on the way. Its better to be prepare with some shoes as pebbles can hurt your feet

Calshot Beach
Beach
👍👍 Great views across to the Isle of Wight and lots of interesting shipping passing close by. Beach is all pebbles at high tide but plenty of sand at the ebb. Rows of expensive beach huts all along the front. Calshot sports centre just along the strand. Parking is a bit steep, paid £3.40 for 2 hours bu...

Hill Head Beach
Beach
👍👍 Nice quiet beach. I just wish people would have better control over their dogs. They don't seem to realise that not everyone likes their dogs and are even scared of them. It doesn't matter how kind your dog is, when it comes galloping up towards you it's quite frightening

Alum Bay Pebble Beach image

Alum Bay Pebble Beach
Beach
👍👍 Pebble by name, pebbley by nature. Not too difficult to walk on. You can get to this beach either by chair lift or 200 steps, one is grey, free, and makes your face red, the other is green, costs and makes your knuckles white! Much like the interesting coloured sand strata in the cliff, you cannot c...

New Beach Huts, Milford on Sea

😠 More like C U Next Tuesday beach. We were on the beach today with a barbecue and despite the several signs indicating that barbecues were allowed, a woman chased after us, insisted they were illegal, and threatened to call the police on us! Such a shame because it is such a beautiful beach.

Weston Hard Woolston
Beach
👍👍 The only part of Southampton where there is a large access to the water for the general public to enjoy. Plenty of places to park, there is a small cafe which is open all year round and there’s usually an ice cream & burger van up at the bigger car park at the other end of the shore. The only Pitch...

Appley Beach

👍👍 Likely one of the best beaches I have been to. We could have been at the Mediterranian somewhere. :) The cafe is great, parking was straightfwd and the tide went out as the afternoon went ahead. Perfect day.

👍👍 Nice clean beach. Perfect for bbqs etc. Dogs welcome all year round as far as I'm aware. Really nice walk along the beach of around 2 miles each way. Best times to go are 8AM when the gates open on the park. Or around 1830 on an evening. It's not very busy if you go first or last thing. Be aware tha...
