Sri Meenakshi Devasthanam
Hindu temple
ππ This place is awesome, totally feels like something from outside of Texas/Houston. Note that you must wear clothing that covers the knees and shoulders, and you cannot wear shoes inside. Currently it is under construction and some parts are not accessible or viewable. Would recommend going, worthwhi...

Brazoria County Beach Free Camping
Public beach
ππ This is an excellent Beach. The seventy-two hour camping option is perfect. Free sites, just park along the dunes. I was a little nervous as high tide approached, but the area where we where parked was fine. The waves stopped just below us. I love that you can still have campfire here.

ππ Great place to get your cardio workout in, engage in sporting activities, or just hang out with family and/or friends. I made a few laps around the park on the trail. I'm not exactly sure of the distance, but it is notable making one complete trip around the park. There is a play area for the childr...

Varner-Hogg Plantation State Historic Site

The main house is nice but I was more interested to know about the slaves that lived there. I wanted to hear thier story. It was a surreal experience to walk...

Kelly Hamby Nature Trail Park
Park
ππ Small trail, well kept, with signs describing the habitat found in these dunes. There are parking spaces by the entrance of the trail, but no car access to the beach at this point.
Peaceful spot, good to relax, walk, look for shells, since not many people come to stay in this part of the beach.

Brazos River County Park
Park
π«€ A great place to find a different variety of winter birds, but this park needs more love. The bathrooms are clean and adequate, but the walking trails are very neglected. One trail is blocked off. I got permission from a park worker to go back and take pictures of the dilapidated boardwalk which is...
