Blanchard Woods Park

ππ 2023-07: Still a beautiful park with a scenic trail with a lot of wildlife to see. My most recent visits included a treat of seeing a turtle along the trail, as well as baby frogs in many places and dragonflies that wanted to pose for pictures. π. Well traveled and marked is some places but a littl...

Riverside Park

ππ This place is a nice one to kayak and stand up paddleboard. Sometimes the water is low depending upon the release of water from the dam. You can find tons of turltes and some birds along the way. The loop is an easy paddle then you will reach the river side. There is also kayak rentals in the park....

Rum Island Springs County Park
Park
ππ It's been about a good 18yrs since I last was at Rum Island. So when my family and I visited the Spring last week, it was a huge difference. There are picnic tables available, a wheelchair ramp, and a division between the spring and lake. We had the best time!! I can't wait to go back. Admittance to...

Fort Eisenhower Recreational Area

π We stayed there for a family reunion. The scenery is amazing. The accommodations were nice and had a homey feel to it. We stayed in several 3 bedroom cabins, 2 bedroom cottages and a few family members stayed in the hotel. There was a full size kitchen with beautiful appliances in the cabins. Th...

Trojan Park
Park
ππ Good parking
Fine for fifth wheels and trailer to maneuver but no dedicated parking spaces. Gates lock at 8pm.
A few poke stops, not the best for a community day. Most of the lake side is unshaded but the picnic areas are pretty well shaded.
Was out there for an SCA (society for creative anachronism...

Columbia Park

π Overall great park. Just aging a bit. The playground is dated but the kids love it. The one baby slide has a crack so be careful with that. Nice picnic areas. Has a bathroom.

Osceola National Forest Dual Sport Trails
Off roading area
ππ My second time out here. Trails are fairly well maintained, but without GPS and maps it may be hard to get around. I took my SxS and was able to do a good speed on the trails safely even though itβs two way trails.
There were about 10 Jeepβs, 20 SxS, and 15 quads. So not really much traffic at all....

Camp Wilkerson Park
Campground
ππ Camp Wilkerson is one of my most beloved places in Oregon. It's small, but grand in the sense of trails and outdoor exploring.
I have never been here for camps and neither have my kids, but I've stayed in the cabins numerous times and have made day trips several times a year.
It's well maintained....

Prescott Beach Park
Park
π A large lovely park on the Columbia, although mostly very clean, you will find some trash about here and there. Since it is a good 1 hour drive from Portland (just a few miles shy of Ranier), itβs not crowded even on holiday weekends. $5 entry fee is fair and I never mind paying to go to parks if it...
