πŸ‘πŸ‘ As a local resident of Durango, this is my children’s favorite playground. It’s big and new and nice. I can get pretty busy on the weekend sometimes but usually very manageable. It’s right on the river so you have to keep an eye on the water to make sure the kids don’t get in. It’s OK to dip your to...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ A beautiful park well worth tromping around in. Great for mountain biking, hiking, and running. That said, if you are on foot you will want to be listening for mountain bikers and get out of their way when you do encounter them - many are traveling at a quick pace and may not see you in time to avoi...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ If my dogs had thumbs they would both give this place two thumbs up! They ran around by the river like it was the happiest day of their lives. Very clean, amazing views, and was a lot of fun to explore with the dogs off leash.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Best in town river access point. It gets crowded when the tour companies are putting in. Be careful in the water below the falls. If you get there early there are some small sandy coves for family picnics.

😐 Had fun watching the kayaks surf on the rapids, saw a few rafts come down through, the girls had a blast skipping stones. It was stinky when the wind would blow in the wrong direction but that is what you get when you're right next to the WWTP. Great place for a walk, cheap entertainment.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Excellent as a tourist I had a much harder time finding and parking at the first Memorial Park. But this one is just spectacular. This entire area is my favorite in town. The community recreation center is directly across the river although one has to drive around over the bridge to get to it. But t...

πŸ‘ During the rafting season this is a take out location on the lower Animas River in Durango, CO. There are no playgrounds (the river is your playground), no bathrooms, or picnic areas. It is dog friendly if your dog likes to play in the river. You can drive down the driveway on the west side to park...

πŸ‘ This park is adjacent to Park Elementary School. The field is well maintained. The "dog cops" patrol this park to ticket owners of off leash dogs...so keep that in mind
