👍👍 It's 5 minutes off At 27 in New Portland. Follow the signs, turn right and park in the abandoned field. There's a treeline and a sand/rock beach with an awesome view of the bridge. Going at sunset is highly recommended as is bug spray because there is a lot. There is one picnic table, but I think it...

👍👍 All I can say is this place is absolute serenity. An easy hike at roughly 1.5 miles the waterfall at the end doesn't disappoint. Great for birding or just to take a nature walk. Lots of wood bridges to help over rough terrain. Highly recommend!!

👍👍 Houston Brook Falls is a great find! Definitely worth the visit! Super buggy so make sure you bring your bug spray. Fairly easy little hike to a breathtaking waterfall. Very little people around, we were there for awhile and ran into only one other couple having a picnic. Dog friendly, our dog loved...

Rangeley Lake State Park
State park
👍👍 Rangeley Lake State Park is everything you're looking for when you want to get away - unmatched peace, tranquility, and relaxing, pristine views. It's no wonder the region is popularly known as "Vacationland". If you're fortunate, you may even get up close to some loons on the lake or see an eagle p...

Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes RR
Tourist attraction
👍👍 Great trip for kids, or adults that just like railroads, this narrow gauge train takes you on a short trip stopping at a scenic spot along the Sandy River as well as a rebuilt railroad house. The track is about a half a mile long. The train will take you to the end of the line stopping for about 1...

Rangeley Lakes Trails Center
Hiking area
😐 Great trails (even pre-season), friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint is the map/trail markers. Our group of 6 ended up missing turns and went far longer than we expected. Better trail labels and "you are here" maps would've been very helpful.

Wilhelm Reich Museum
Museum
👍 My son and I arranged for a tour in May. The museum itself was probably one of the least informative museums I've ever been in, but the whole scene was fascinating nonetheless. I came away baffled as to why Wilhelm Reich was persecuted, what sort of loyalty or fascination allowed his lab to be pres...
