Audubon Center at Riverlands
Nature preserve
ππ We went there on Monday, unaware it is closed on Mondays. We walked one of the trails. It is paved and very easy to walk. The grounds are well kept. There is a neat ramp that leads to an observation deck overlooking the river.

ππ What a great place to hike! The paths were well marked and there is a little something for everyone. Once we got off the paved path and followed The Deer (the most challenging) - it was an outstanding hike. Cheers!

Lincoln/Douglas Square
Tourist attraction
π There's not too much to say about this. It's a nice little square with some statues and plaques that mark the spot where Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln had their famous debate. It's well kept and interesting, and a neat place to stop on your way to somewhere else.

Russell Commons Park

π Alton is cheap POS town you can't even get into the park without purchasing a daily or monthly pass. You can't even use it as a tax paying Alton resident. Also no signs saying you can't get in until you walk all the way up to the gate. Disappointed and wasted my time.
