👍👍 Worth the brief stop to the summit. Short five minute walk and brings to you see a great view of the crater. Doesn’t seem like it when parking but the path wraps around. Plus there is a protected area if heavy wind.

👍 Approx 12 mile drive into the lookout, much of it narrow 2 lane paved, a quarter one lane paved, and a quarter gravel, entertaining, not dangerous, but requires some attention and care. It is doable in a 2WD car, easy with an SUV and ends at 6740', looking south towards the Kilauea Caldera. If you...
