Heritage of the Americas Museum
Natural history museum
ππ An amazing collection, from fossils, arrowheads, Native American jewelry, to jade, sculptures and paintings. I was very impressed with the variety of artifacts. The displays made items easy to see. The guide made it really great cause he knew so much about the items. Not many items have a write up b...

SDSU Turtle Pond
Wildlife refuge
π This is nice place to visit when the campus is quiet or closed. We were able to drive right to it on Dec 26th. Campus was closed. The turtles almost seemed too comfortable with a human presence, but good if you want to see a large red slider and koii up close.

North Park Sign
Tourist attraction
ππ Lived half my life in North Park. I remember when there was no sign. I remember when North Park was a pretty damn bad neighborhood. Now it has transformed into a great place to live, work and play. Planning on getting the North Park sign tatted on my arm soon.

Big Rock Road Trail
Hiking area
π The trail is 4.5 miles round trip with a 1.2k ft elevation gain. It is rated difficult, but anyone with average health (even without hiking experience) should be able to finish the roundtrip in under 2.5 hours, especially with good shoes and hiking poles. We hiked with cheap running shoes and slippe...

ππ A very neat and informative museum to learn about the areaβs past. The staffs were very friendly and knowledgeable. This a good place to spend an entire afternoon to take it slowly and browse through the arts and photos.

Bancroft Creek
Park
π Love these trails since in my backyard. Go all the time with my dog. Easy level unless you choose to go all way up to top of Dictionary Hill. If you follow trails south, crosses over Jamacha Blvd and links to trails near reservoir. Bikers used to ride a lot before this part closed a few years for co...
