👍 A beautiful little oasis in the middle of this lovely city, Gateway Peace Garden holds many surprises as you walk through its twists and turns. 👍👍 Well worth the hike, this location not only has beautiful views of Mt Shasta peak and its surroundings, but it is an important piece of its history for almost a century (1922) and its well preserved. It has a natural spring, camping grounds and well taken care of toiletes (believe me, you will be gr...

👍👍 What a beautiful walk if your into mountains, lakes, streams, and rivers. Did I mention all the beautiful pines. My wife, puppy and I go there about once a week from the Redding area. Bunny Flat Trailhead
Hiking area
👍👍 It offers two trails - Ski Bowl and Horse camp. Ski Bowl is higher in elevation and a longer hike. Beautiful, scenic views but it was hard to follow the trail because it was covered in snow still. If you’re feeling adventurous, I’d recommend ski bowl but if not - Horse camp is your best option.

👍👍 The Lower Falls are 100 feet walk from the parking lot. There is a free access restroom and several picnic tables. If you hike another 200 feet pass the falls, up the trail, there is an area where you can get into the water to cool off.

👍👍 Got here early in the morning to hike the area before we headed to Burney Falls. This was a very nice area. The falls were beautiful and it was an easy walk from the lower to the upper falls.

The Crystal Room, Crystal Tones at Mount Shasta
Rock shop
👍👍 I’ve been coming here on and off for about 15 years. There’s literally nothing else like it on the planet. Obviously the Smithsonian and certain museums have specimen collections that are deeply impressive. What I mean to say is if you’re purchasing parts God’s creation in crystal form, this is the...

👍👍 Saw the Crags on the way to a different hike, which ended up being inaccessible due to snow, so we turned around and did this one. GET THERE EARLY! We had to park at the bottom, and hiked up Bob’s Hat trail to meet the Crag Trail. This adds two miles to the trip and another 750’ to the hike over all...

👍👍 Visited 12/31/2021. One of the best free sledding areas I have seen. Bring your own sled. No rentals there. Have only one restroom on site...expect the worst going in). Parking is limited. Parking lot was covered with snow. Try to park at the start of the lot if you don't have 4wd or at least goo...

Black Butte Trailhead
Hiking area
👍👍 The Black Butte trail is one of the most spectacular hikes I’ve been on in the USA, especially if you consider how accessible it is from major population centers (I mean, compared to say the Grand Canyon, which is cool and all but more out of the way). The view from the top is world-class... and you...

👍👍 I photographed a couple here and I only have good things to say about this location. We hiked early – starting at 5:00 AM when there were only a couple of other hikers at the trailhead. Our goal was to see the pink light hit Mt Shasta as the sun was rising and we did just that! It was incredible to...
