👍👍 Wonderful piece of history. The NPS does a great job of keeping the area clean and enjoyable for everyone. Several historical markers too. Easy to walk, bike, or run. Mostly shaded, so even nice on a hot summer day

👍👍 The man James rumsey invented the first steamboat in shepardstown, wv. This monument has a great view of the Potomac river that stretches and can see a great view of the Shenandoah valley. Easy hike up the steps. Kid friendly!

👍👍 Multiple sets of playground equipment in both sunny and shady areas. Clean and well maintained equipment and park great for children of all ages. Great for parents and children with trails over to the James Rumsey park.
