ππ I spent 3 days with Paul of Venus at Mt. Shasta. He brought us to sacred waters to swim, energy vortex's to meditate and special places to visit and embody the magical energy of Mt. Shasta. He is incredibly knowledgeable and gave us so much history about the mountain.
My experience was life changin...

The Bluebird Inn
Bed & breakfast
ππ I made a quick overnight visit in April and will definitely return for a longer stay. The inn is beautiful, comfortable, historic and peaceful. The rooms are spacious and the bed (Clover Room) was great. There is coffee and quiet in the morning with a wood burning stove. Breakfast comes from Far...

Golden Dome Cave
Tourist attraction
ππ This was the first cave we visited in Lava Beds and it was a great introduction. Be aware that the ceiling in this cave gets low and requires you to stoop at times (watch your head as the ceiling is sharp in places). The golden color on the dome is really amazing when you get there.

Horse Camp
Campground
ππ Well worth the hike, this location not only has beautiful views of Mt Shasta peak and its surroundings, but it is an important piece of its history for almost a century (1922) and its well preserved. It has a natural spring, camping grounds and well taken care of toiletes (believe me, you will be gr...

Catacombs Cave

ππ You can go in and explore a bit without too much experience or gear besides a flashlight. The front section has high ceilings.
That said, I highly recommend bringing a helmet, knee pads, headlamp, and map for the ultimate caving experience. It was so fun exploring all the little nooks and crannies....

Bunny Flat Trailhead
Hiking area
ππ It offers two trails - Ski Bowl and Horse camp. Ski Bowl is higher in elevation and a longer hike. Beautiful, scenic views but it was hard to follow the trail because it was covered in snow still. If youβre feeling adventurous, Iβd recommend ski bowl but if not - Horse camp is your best option.

Lava Beds Visitor Center
Visitor center
ππ So fascinating! Make sure to block out a minimum of 3-4 hours to explore, but ideally stay the whole day or camp at one of the nearby sites. Be sure to stop by the visitor center first and grab a big flashlight (they lend them out for free) because your phone light wonβt cut it, and if it dies you d...

McCloud River Falls Trailhead
Hiking area
ππ Got here early in the morning to hike the area before we headed to Burney Falls. This was a very nice area. The falls were beautiful and it was an easy walk from the lower to the upper falls.
