👍👍 It is now my FAVORITE place in Savannah! Take any trail, get lost in the dense woods (not in a scary way) and it leads to the open ground. It's the prettiest spot! Surrounded by woods on all the sides, it's unreal!

👍👍 If you want to see a real wild area with wild creatures including alligators this is where you can find them. Tread carefully. I almost stepped on a small alligator on the trail. Luckily it froze and I was able to cautiously snap a few photos. There were also turtles and herons. A good walking trail...

👍👍 Saw a bald eagle, some grey herons, and at least a dozen armadillos. Gorgeous, peaceful woods that are very alive. No entrance fee - sweet

This nature preserve for pine & oak trees has wetland areas plus shaded walking paths.

👍👍 The lake is stunning! The trail, though, is not for those who are afraid to be up close and personal with nature. lol. I saw 3 alligators on the trail!
