👍👍 You can drive straight into beach. Beach is fairly harden sand so many cars are parked right by the water. Visited for new year sunrise 1/1/2022. Many crowds but not busy nor loud. I enjoyed quiet first sun rise of the year.

👍👍 This is our favorite section of the Galveston coast. There’s free parking right by the sea wall on Ave 12. The water is shallow for a long distance out which is great for playing and swimming in the waves.

👍👍 This is an excellent Beach. The seventy-two hour camping option is perfect. Free sites, just park along the dunes. I was a little nervous as high tide approached, but the area where we where parked was fine. The waves stopped just below us. I love that you can still have campfire here.
