Kiwanis Cabin
Tourist attraction
👍👍 Definitely worth the easy hike! Views are insane. Cabin is awesome as well, but I could see how mass crowds could ruin everything.
We went on a weekday in October, and was not really the warmest or calmest day at all. There were two people there when we just got to the cabin, but nobody else the re...

Travertine Falls
Hiking area
👍👍 I expected there to be water, but alas, I should have read previous reviews before hiking. The falls were really close and dry. At least they didn’t have litter or valdalism. We Co tied to the lookout on the long fork on Crest 13. It was relatively empty. We passed about 4 parties in 5 hours. By the...

Sandia Ranger District
Forestry service
👍👍 We went here with some friends who are big into rock climbing. They set up some routes on some small cliff faces and we climbed them with out kids. The rock faces are not tall, only 25 to 35 feet and are pretty easy so they are great for beginners and kids.

Rio Puerco Bridge
Historical landmark
👍 This bridge was built in 1933, and, although it's no longer safe for vehicle use, kudos to New Mexico for not tearing it down. This was on the original Route 66, and I like to think that some of my Okie ancestors drove across this bridge in its first decade as they headed to California. You can imag...
