πŸ‘ Drone owners you cannot fly there its restricted. They have an aircraft and planes do fly that low. Trust me it was a big pain carrying a drone that I couldn't use. This beach is WAY BETTER then clam beach. I see more clams here and less broken. The walk is far to the river and the ocean connecting...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Today was a high tide at 9:30AM combined with a Tsunami due to a volcano in the South Pacific. Not a major issue, but high tides and strong waves were the result. Lots of fresh driftwood has been dumped on the beach as well.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Lovely walk of over grown trails along the Mad River Bluff. There's more than one way in and out and around... there's an open dog park before the trails with a dog water station. The playground is fenced in ( no dogs allowed in) by the parking lot and bathrooms there as well.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ $25 a night per car ($22 for veterans). Several camp sites with fire rings, picnic tables, and large flat spots for tents. Potable water on site as well. We had 2x4man tents with plenty of room. There is also a bathroom but no showers. It's a short walk to the beach and lots of wood available.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Just love this park. Clean great place for kids of all ages and dog poop bags provided. And no poison used on grass. I'm a camp fire survivor and feel so blessed to live in Mckinnleyville now! This is an awesome park.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Great spot if your doggo loves water, if you're a rock hound and/or would like to enjoy nature without too much of a drive. I live in Eureka, this was about 22 minutes. Worth it. The immediate area you park at has picnic tables and good area for playing, lots of grass and trees. If you walk one of...

🫀 I wouldn't recommend this as a scenic walk. People seem to camp along the trail and car camp in the parking lot. At times there's a lot a garbage around so it feels gross. It does seem to be a good area to walk dogs. There's a nice open field that dogs like to run around. I don't have a dog so...

😠 Sadly, this site is neither authentic nor has any connection with local Indigenous people. If you are interested in accurate local history, check out Sumeg State Park. From the totem pole’s Facebook page: β€œI was harvested by the Pacific Lumber Company [circa 1960]. Ernest Pierson [non-indigenous] th...

πŸ‘ Nice park, rather small, but a couple of somewhat steep climbs. Downside is the park does not allow dogs, even on leash.
