Loma Verde Preserve

👍👍 Beautiful and challenging hike. Well maintained trail but very steep. When you get to the top you will be rewarded some spectacular views all the way to Hamilton and the bay. Park at the end of Pebble Beach Drive...easy on-street parking.

It has thick natural grass (many parks are adopting turfgrass).
Right behind the free public parkinglot are huge trees which provide great shade, nestled by a creek with flowing water ( Winter only). There are picnic tables and BBQ'S. Great for all ages.

Deer Island Open Space

👍👍 Short on time but you want to get in a decent hike. The Deer Island Loop is your hike. Nice vista's of the Novato ridgeline; especially as the sun sets to the west. The wildlife, well, I saw not one Great Horne Owl 🦉 but two🦉🦉 in the same tree - what a hoot 😉.

😐 The10 foot long grass blades blocks everyone's view of The POND if you sit in The GAZEBO. A HOMELES man was napping there when I visited last week as my sister walked her dog, But I sat down any way and enjoyed a nice breeze with an excellent view of grass blades.
